Great live music venue, excellent sound. The crowd was rowdy but in a good way! Parking is on street, but theres loads of space and plenty of people around so no need to worry about your car getting nicked. Its an old pub with an old school, no nonsense vibe. Some people saying its rough, but its not. Some saying its in a rough area, but its no worse than anywhere else in the midlands on a Saturday night. I visited on 9th November, with several members of my immediate family, to watch Mad Dog Mcrea perform. Venue was warm and welcoming, with a "castle keep" feel to the bar, and a good warming real fire.Band were great, and the atmosphere was friendly and respectful. Everyone was there to enjoy themselves, and let others do the same. Very good, highly recommended.Guinness at £4.90 a pint, and served in good quality thick plastic glasses, hardly distinguishable from standard glass.

Went there to watch a band called Kosheen, the bar area is"cozy"and the staff were exceptional. The ONLY down side was the fruit machine accepted £8 ,then decided it didn't want to work anymore even though it had already taken me for £20. I think I was probably onto a large payout before it's"malfunction"!!Decent prices on the alcohol and a warm and friendly atmosphere
