Rude, obnoxious and almost deliberately arrogant and indignant landlord. I’m literally lost for words as to how rude this man is!!! It’s like it’s deliberate. He doesn’t deserve a single customer. I’d score it zero if possible!

Yesterday was my third visit for lunch, I was keen to take my family ( first 2 visits with friends ) as the first two visits I was very pleased with, the quality of food, the pleasant bar staff, lovely warm atmosphere and welcome. Yesterday was a BIG disappointment, we were 3 adults and 4 children, we were pleasantly surprised to be told three of the children would eat for £1 with 3 of the paying adults meals, also our drinks would be just £1 also with our chosen meal, our total bill for the first order came to about £63 ( don't know exactly as didn't get an itemised bill or receipt ) all 4 children had a drink which I suppose wasn't included in the £1 cost ( that's fair enough) but I just fail to believe they could have been over £20 ?Myself and husband chose the gammon from the lunch time menu, previously two visits I also chose that, it was delicious, a thick piece cooked to perfection, Yesterday it was just awful, 3 scraggy pieces cooked to death, even though advertised as 5oz gammon.Three of the children ordered from kids menu a margherita pitza, expecting it to be a whole small pitza as no mention of chips on the menu with it, they were actually served 2 very cheap slices ( it looked most unappetising) and chips. It is not acceptable to serve children poor quality food and it gets me very cross irrespective of us paying £1( which we were not aware of prior to arriving). Previous times I have visited were towards the end of the week, Yesterday was Monday, maybe a different chef??? Whatever the reason, very disappointed with the food this time and as I beleive a big over charge, if I visit again I shall ask for an itemised receipt, shame about this review because its a lovely pub and lovely staff.

Had the festive 3 course today with friends. Food was lovely, as we're the staff, nothing too much trouble. Table was laid out beautifully for Christmas as well.
