Great selection of beers and real fire. Visited again 2024 and they have a great range of ales.

Always a good selection of ales and other beers which is the main focus of this pub I’d say.We visited when there was a Kayleigh Band when we went there and they were great. Not too loud which meant people could join in a bit and chat too which is what we did and.Other punters were friendly and my friend and I went with our guide dogs with no issues at all.Staff member was friendly enough if a little harried as he seemed to be the only person serving.Food is snacks or rolls. I had two rolls but, one was easily enough.Worst part of this pub by far is that it stinks of pee when you go in. That is very off putting I’m afraid to say.

Very disappointing experience here this evening. Despite the pub being mainly empty, me and a friend were rudely informed that it had been too long since that we had ordered our last drink and that we should leave if we didn’t order another one.We then left and ordered a drink at another bar.Never had such an encounter before. I would understand if it was busy, or if we were being rowdy, but it wasn’t the case. Won’t be drinking there again, and I wouldn’t encourage others to either.I’m not normally a person to complain, but I was genuinely quite shocked. There are other ways to politely encourage people to buy drinks, but this was not the case at all.

Worst pub I've ever been to the person behind the bar was very rude the Guinness I brought was warm with a massive head so didn't have much of a drink left wouldn't go if you paid

A cracking spot. Right on the high st. They don't really do much in the way of music, the have a folk band every now.and again, but more music would give them 5 stars from me.
Christmas Eve at the Midland was fantastic . Service was very good and the ales are top notch .
