Can’t comment on food as didn’t eat. Drinks reasonably priced, nice little boozer.Parking: Best to park in big Tesco opposite as free parking for a few hours and lots of space.

Perfect for families and party crowds alike. My family have visited this bar for a meal and drinks - great choice of food and excellent value. Toni looks after everybody. For the lads and ladies on a session - great selection of beers, wines and spirits - brilliant atmosphere, I really recommend this bar. Recommended establishment from the SR.

Wow what a change. The 1st I went to the lion with my family I had a real bad experience. It was not the “family friendly” experience I thought it would be. I swore I’d never go back there. I felt out of place. Luckily I didn’t have my son with me. They recently took on new kitchen staff who specialise in Caribbean food. I thought I’d give it a try as I love that kind of food. I have an autistic son who is very fussy about where he eats, and I was unsure if it was the type of place I’d want to take him, but he came with us. I was very nervous about taking him but I can honestly say that he, my mom, my husband and I loved the food. The staff were great! We booked the table for 5pm. We were taken to our seats on arrival by a lovely young man called jake. I went to get a drink but was told it was table service so all drinks would be bought to us. The food was amazing and so was the service. My son then wanted to have a game of pool, we were shocked as he’s never wanted to be anywhere, let alone stay for extra time. We had a great evening and didn’t leave the lion till 9pm. The food was great the atmosphere was great and my son, who very rarely shows emotions due to his autism hugged his dad and I at the end of the night and thanked us for the evening. It wasn’t down to his dad and I, it was down to the lovely staff and the manager Josh who was on shift at the time. This was 1 week ago. My son asked us to got there again tonight, not for food but to play pool. We got there and was welcomed by the manager Toni. We had a little wait for the pool table but the staff did there best to make our son comfortable and at ease as they know about his condition. Once again we had a fantastic evening and the staff we excellent. Toni (the manager on shift) was lovely. She made us feel welcome and chatted to my son. I’d had bad experiences with the previous manager but I can’t fault Josh and Toni. I think things are looking up for the lion and I’d recommend you try there food.

New food menu 10/10 we had the jerk platter and fried chicken burger both very nice. We will be back to try some of the other meals… service was also 10/10 very attentive… ☺️
