These used to be very nice clean toilets. Now they smell of cannabis, and rubbish is left all over the place. What has happened? This is thee 3rd time I’ve noticed it

Since moving to the area last year I have visited this pub for lunch at least once a month with family and will continue to return. The food is always tasty, well made and beautifully presented and their home made garlic bread is amazing. The staff are always friendly and work hard to make sure you’re looked after. During the day the pub is family friendly and on weekend evenings there is often brilliant live music. I’ve had a couple of nights out at the Bells and it’s always a great atmosphere. Proud to call The Six Bells my local.

Terrific pub in gorgeous old high street. Hall & Woodhouse (Badger). Beautiful old timbered building. Cosy corners and sympathetic dining area extension at rear. Really good hearty meals and good cooking. Friendly and attentive staff. Highly recommend

A lovely setting and friendly staff but the food was mediocre at best. We chose the place because it suited where we were coming from and seemed a good geographic compromise. Because we were driving we had soft drinks only, which seemed a shame as the beer selection was so tempting. Time pressures and a lot to discuss meant we didn't look at the menus properly and simply went with the recommendations. So the fact that the seafood risotto was a disappointment was as much our fault as theirs. Unfortunately it was tepid when it arrived and rather bland and watery. They did offer to warm it through again but not something that we would want with seafood and also we were on a tight timeline. Anyway, reading other reviews suggests this was an isolated experience. Nonetheless, not somewhere I would recommend.

We recently held a family birthday celebration for 20 people at The Six Bells. From first contact through to the night itself, Kirsty and the team were really helpful and also helped stage a surprise arrival for the Birthday Boy! The buffet food provided was great value, all nicely presented and everyone commented on how delicious it was - especially the amazing home-made Scotch Eggs! (Worth a visit for those alone!) Lovely atmosphere and all staff were polite, professional and efficient. Highly recommend! I can also add that a previous lunchtime ‘recce visit’ was equally impressive, along with the lunchtime food. Thank You Kirsty and the team ???

Six Bells Billingshurst Well, it was my birthday, so I walked up to the Six Bells for lunch. I got a drink then studied the menu and “Specials Board”. To my delight on the “Specials” was French Onion Soup, my favourite. So, starter organised. Having been to France quite often (pretentious or what), and so having had the soup there, I have got to say the Six Bells one was the best I have ever had. It came in a medium size oval dish, the bread (not sure if “bread” was the right way to describe it) with the cheese on, covered the top of the dish, under which was a really thick delicious soup, nearly solid with onions. None of this thin brown liquid with a few bits of onion floating around. I have just one suggestion, take it off the “Specials Board” and put it on the main menu. Then to my main course. I have this maxim when going to have food in a pub, the best was to judge the food is to have ham eggs and chips. So, this is what I ordered. When it came there were proper thick chips, none of this skinny fries’ things. There where two perfectly fried eggs, under which was hiding a pile of ham. The ham was beautiful, sourced from the local Billingshurst butchers. So, all in all a perfect lunch and would highly recommend a visit.

We were a party of seven for lunch and chose varied dishes from the menu. All dishes served were excellent, my sister and I had the sea bass with scallops for the main course and the cooking of both was perfect. Others had a traditional Christmas lunch, fillet steak and one nut roast. The rest of the menu, starters, desserts and the cheese course were lovely and portions were generous and represented great value for money. The service was friendly and professional. It’s a traditional style pub with a great atmosphere. Highly recommended for eating or just popping in for a drink or two.

I went here with a friend and her baby for lunch, Ordered club sandwich and SOUTHERN FRIED CHICKEN GOUJONS and nuggets for a child.. I got plain chicken dippers instead of goujons, the nuggets they gave to our child were spicier than what I got as an adult. They denied messing the order up and said they would do less spicy nuggets for our child but came out the same spicy full off curry When paying they couldn’t provide an itemised bill for me so couldn’t check what I was paying for.. Steven behind the bar was very arrogant when I went to pay, we asked to half the bill it came to £47.85 we both paid £24 without our consent.. and told me it couldn’t have been that bad as I was taking it home… I told him not for me but my dog will eat it and that’s all it’s fit for.. The goujon is the one on the blue napkin the child’s nugget is the other one… (that’s no child nugget)

What a shame, such a beautiful pub & friendly staff but badly let down by overpriced, awful food. Supermarket sliced brown bread with a smidgen of garlic flavoured butter to accompany my fish cakes that were just mashed potato for £18.95! No evidence of any fish just a few pink flakes of what I guessed was salmon but couldn’t actually taste. Why bother with puddings after that? Photos online do not reflect what we were presented with unfortunately.

I’d visited here back in June and had great service, tasty food and good portions. Unfortunately totally different today and I’ve had better food and portions in Wetherspoons. Fish batter was soggy, a portion of vegetables appeared to be a soggy reheated mess and all lukewarm. I’m not sure if new management has come in since June or different staff, but at the prices being charged I expect better!
