This place has really gone down hill. The new management have really ran it into the ground. Barely any drinks available due to no stock and the kitchen closed because they can’t maintain a chef! Staff look miserable and there’s no atmosphere anymore. Lots of young kids in here now, rowdy and volatile. Lots of drug use in here too now, where are licensing to check this? This use to be a family pub and I wouldn’t dare bring my children in here now. not the experience we are use to from this pub. This pub has been been getting worse for the last year, although since December it’s been noticeably a lot worse. Probably the owners have just taken on a new pub in another village and can’t be bothered to even get spirits in. This pub use to be a real gem in this village. We’ve had many happy summers here, lovely food and a fantastic atmosphere, this has been completely destroyed by whatever management has been brought in and the lack of effort put into the pub. I wish they would bring back Kirsty and Kirsten who could actually run this pub successfully. It’s an absolute shambles.

This used to be the best pub in the village. Was supposed to be eating with friends but was told they no longer served food despite it being advertised on their website and Facebook page. We decided to stay for a drink... no white wine, no vodka, no spiced rum. The mam with the beard and long hair (who apparently is now manager!) Was rude and has absolutely no customer service skills. The tall chap with glasses and the young chap who hosts the quiz were very pleasant and apologetic. I felt sorry for them running around like headless chickens whilst the manager leant against the bar on his phone chatting to friends. These two members of staff are a credit to the pub but unfortunately they're the only good thing left about it. Whoever owns this pub now has wrecked it. If Hall and Woodhouse read these reviews I hope they act upon it and get the pub back on its feet again. For now, we will be drinking elsewhere. Very sad ?

A pub that doesn’t pay its staff and doesn’t care for them at all. No wonder this pub is being run into the ground. Lifeless and zero atmosphere. The Manager also needs a lesson in what customer service is. As for the Licensees - they gave up ages ago so no wonder the pub is back on the market. Needs a proper professional couple who will get rid of the kids and drugs and utilise the pub garden.

I took a friend for fish'n chips as it was her birthday. The person I approached on the bar to order had a very stroppy attitude. We picked a table to sit but were told to sit somewhere else although the Restaurant had many empty tables and there were no reservations. When the fish'n chips arrived I immediately saw that the chips were very dark and charred/ burnt at both ends. I was told they are not burnt. My friend and I had to dip each chip into the tartare sauce to cover the charred taste. A lady came round to ask whether everything was alright. I mentioned that the chips were burnt. She passed this on to the kitchen staff which made this stroppy person appear again trying to tell as that the chips were not burnt but were home made and not frozen like other places use. When I paid, I again mentioned to the lady that the chips were charred and she agreed with me. I must mention that we had fish'n chips in the Six Bells last year and everything was fine. I cannot comment on other food they serve but the fish'n chips we had was not a enjoyable birthday meal.

Poor to say the least... bar staff rude and couldn't be bothered to even pretend to be interested in clients! Food crap.... got sent back, staff had major attitude about this.... fish and chips.... 9 chips!!!!! 9!!! Sorry but come on! 9!!!! Was shocking, spoke to staff who had massive chip on shoulder!!!!! Hahaha.... more chips on staff shoulders than on plates... won't bother returning ?

Saturday night & no New Zealand savvy b I drink in here regularly (3 or4 times a week) & it's not the first time my beverage of choice has been unavailable & often there's a lack of pump & bottled beer that my partner & our friends enjoy. I understand there's a Christmas menu i did see it on Facebook & think it's expensive, but can't see any advertising for it. This is a great pub, but current management seem to be wanting to run it into the ground!

Had lunch here, not planned thought it looked a nice location, clearly they were not expecting to have as many customers as there appeared to be only 2 staffing the entire place, we ordered our food which took an age to arrive and I had never seen so much food on a plate, each plate would have fed 2 people this I consider NOT value for Money as half was left uneaten, my husband had ham and egg and the ham was not as fresh as it should be, certainly not a lovely fresh pink colour nor flavoursome

The food was reasonable and hot. Off putting was the smelly dog wandering around. We ended up moving but he was still around. Reluctant to return. As I said food was ok but I don’t like dogs!!

Had the mixed grill which was absolutely delicious I can still taste it. Very friendly bar staff especially Joan who made us feel very welcome. Wines fresh and kept at correct temperature and very reasonably priced compared to others. Great bunch of locals who were very friendly. Going to try their Sunday roasts which I hear are sumptuous.

For the 1st time in 4years we both revisited the six bells in billingshurst, and even though the pub has lost none of its charm we were both disappointed with the food. The piri piri chicken burger had hardly any sauce and the only extra was a lot of lettuce. My so called beef brisket one had two small rounds of beef which was quite hard and chewy, and it certainly didn't resemble a tender brisket. So all in all we were not impressed, and it spoilt our lunch. But the service was quick, and the beer was welcomed.

A nice enough location and nice friendly environment. Areasonable choice of foods and dishes to choose from. The staff are attentive and polite. A little pricey for the standard of food but probably in line with current price rises and costs everywhere. The food was adequate, although I have had better elsewhere. Having said that, I would recommend for a look in and quick bite or small group to visit for a lunch or dinner.

Our friends live locally and were constantly telling us how good the curry was. We visited today and it was awful. Two couples, the men ordered the curry which arrived cold. They sent it back but there was no apology, it was reheated and sent back, one with no sauce, all dry. He got a refund. My husband ate his because he was so hungry. I had a starter as my main, which was Jamaican chicken strips served with salad. But all I got was some very wilted rocket, no other salad. Our plates and empty glasses weren’t cleared for a very long time either. Our friends were so apologetic as we visited based on their recommendation. Very disappointing.

Just passing through and looking for somewhere to eat.Good outside area - ordered ribeye steak but it was very stringey and didn't seem like ribeye. Good beer but wouldn't rate the food.

Absolutely terrible! We came with family for a birthday lunch. No roast dinners available on Sunday, no fish for fish & chips, only 1 steak available. We ordered potato skins - they served whipped cream (as in dessert whipped cream) rather than soured cream! Pizza arrived and it was budget - doughy base and tops with cheddar. Staff were terrible - complete waste of money, time and we will never be returning! Avoid!!!
