Came here for lunch, food was a little slow, but it was a Saturday pre-christmas and there were 7 of us. Portions were a little small, quality was high, but you paid for it. I am unlikely to come here again. Parking nearby is quite expensive, but not the pubs fault.

Don't be fooled by 4.2 stars, visited for a pub lunch. Not local, the food inc. GF option was fantastic. Had the mushroom quiona burger with cheese and tabasco. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant and well decked out. This place should have a higher rating.

Very friendly but we're during childrens Christmas bash. Not their fault. Just a shame as we wanted a quiet drink in this cosy pub.

I had the christmas dinner and it was delicious although my pig in blanket was burnt! Christmas pudding was delicious and homemade but brandy sauce spoilt it for me. To much brandy.

Although this is my second time here after several years since my last visit, this is the first time I've actually eaten here yesterday. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Definitely a suitable place for get-togethers, etc.

Bland menu. Staff are pleasant enough but it's nothing to write home about. Used to be the Swan Inn and was a vibrant pub with plenty of locals drinking decent regional beers and ales. Sloppy burgers and hearty sandwiches. Miss it a

I took my elderly parents here for Sunday dinner today, my parents are very local but not been for 6 years or more and my Dad wasn’t that keen on going due to previous experiences… Well! We all had a roast and apart from some veg being a bit too ‘al dente’ for them, it was cracking! (Roast potatoes are never the same as home but they were ok) Yorkshire’s were amazing!!! The Smaller plate portions are a good size if you prefer a smaller dinner. Staff were very friendly and welcoming especially our waitress who was very attentive especially to the older folk. Puddings were amazing!! I can personally recommend the plum soufflé and panna cotta Will definitely be visiting again! ?

Wow what a great meal! We had a lovely lunch (5 adults + toddler). Every single thing we ordered was delicious, we cleared out plates! The butternut squash risotto was amazing, as was the 3 sausage dish. We also enjoyed the Crate Apple dessert, Panna Cotta, and plum soufflé which were the perfect ending. Our server (young blonde woman) was very attentive and gave ua great recommendations, and very friendly. We will definitely be back

Stopped here on a quiet rainy Monday night and had a lovely meal. Small menu but my Chicken was delicious, along with everything else on the plate. Well looked after. Harvey's and Doom Bar on tap.
Do NOT book online for this place. I booked well in advance, had it confirmed, got the confirmation the day before. Then four hours before the lunch we’d planned our whole weekend around the pub phoned and said their online booking system is meaningless and the booking therefore doesn’t exist. Do not make this mistake yourselves! Online booking is completely pointless

Very noisy on our visit. Dog friendly. Food good but portions a bit small we found.

They forgot to mention on the website their Award Winning Roasts come with hairs!!! It was reported when the cutlery arrived. There wasn't any come backs!

So this pub has been in Chichester for over 55 years under various names and ownership. When I was growing up it was called The Swan. The Crate & Apple is very different to its Swan days. Very upmarket and very much a foodie pubWe went on a Sunday. The food is excellent. The waiter service fantastic. What really let down the whole experience was incredibly slow kitchen service. The main course delay was apparently because the kitchen had to clean down for a nut allergy. But the excessive weight for puddings is more difficult to explain. So I hope the kitchen delay is a one off.If the kitchen service was better it would have been 5 stars. The waiter staff are superbParking: There is paid parking very close by but it’s limited

Lovely place to have a nice meal. 3 courses for a fair price, a lovely atmosphere and staff very clean. With a relaxed vibes.
