Worst meal of the year, I had a mixed grill. The chicken was raw, the black pudding was cold and not cooked through. My wife had a steak that was so tough and full of gristle. Not an enjoyable experience. I can only hope I am not ill following this experience. The manager said she would do something about the bill. She reduced our cost by £12, I should have refused to pay, but the waitress was sent to take payment, it was not her fault so I paid and left.

Drinks were late, and I had to ask for them as our mains had arrived. I ordered haddock and chips. Chips were cold and, in fairness, were replaced immediately. Overall, meals could be hotter on arrival.

The Mixed Grill was my choice to eat, the food was awful, chicken raw, black pudding cold and not cooked properly. Wife had Steak that was full of grisstle. I spoke to waitress and manager who acknowledge food not cooked, manager said she would adjust my bill. She reduced cost by £12. I did pay, but on review I should not have done. I hope I am not ill as a result of this awful meal.

I reserved a table for two a couple of days prior to attending to the venue. The bottles of sauce looked like they hadn’t been wiped (as seen in one of the images below). The starters were amazing. It’s a shame I couldn’t say the same about the main course. We ordered gammon and chips. The gammon was full with fat (zoom in on the other image of the plate opposite to me for a better look). We asked the waitress if it could be remade and the excuse was “my manager says the whole batch is exactly the same”. The waitress was very kind to offer us another option. Although the restaurant was busy, having worked in the industry myself, this is very bad customer service from the manager. The only good thing about the whole dinner was the starter and the desert.

Arrived 1.20 for 1.30 booking No one greeted us for few minutes, laptop was open with customers details on. Eventually shown to table.20 mins later we asked a passing waitress if we could order drinks and food. She said we weren’t her area but slowly took order. No one said anything about a delay for food.At 2.10 we asked another waitress how long our food would be, she checked and said 10-15 minutes. We did tell her we weren’t impressed. 20 minutes later we asked again, apparently they were waiting for the sides to be done.About 2.45 food started to arrive, we were all hungry and stressed as had somewhere else to be.Most food was cold! Gravy was gelatinous, ribs, chicken and burgers were all cold, sweet potato fries were burnt. One meal still not served when waitress asked ‘how is everything’!We asked to spk to a manager, a lady came and said she’d give us some discount.The last meal, a nacho bean burger , finally arrived, with badly scorched bun top. When cut into the burger was cold, s p fries burnt!Myself and adult daughter went to see manager lady who was looking at our order on a screen. We complained profusely, she replied ‘sorry but we’re busy’!I informed her that was not our fault and with a diabetic in our group as well as 2 children the situation was not at all acceptable. By this time we had been there well over 2 hours! She offered to get us something else but by this time we needed to be elsewhere. I told her not to bother sorting a discount as we would be paying nothing. She eventually agreed after speaking to someone else that this was ok!This meal was a family meal for 8 as a Christmas tradition treat after seeing the pantomime. We had all had a fantastic morning but left your restaurant hungry, sad , some of us in tears. A total letdown with disgraceful customer service.Parking: Plenty of space even when busy

Terrible food! Staff are running round like headless chickens and don’t have a clue what they are doing! The place was filthy, we was shown to a table and the floor was covered in the previous diners food.. sticky tables and chairs. 6 of us ordered the festive menu, it came out cold, the veg was mushy and the sprouts tasted so disgusting they was inedible.. the starters were a joke! And 2 of us never got our puddings as they forgot to put our orders through.. we decided to just pay and leave, the bill came and when we checked it, we had been charged for items we never even asked for! Once we called the waitress over and went through the bill it turned out they had over charged us by £28.

We kept on being forgotten. No salad bowls. No repeat drinks, no interest in us and no service. Chips served were from dark brown to anaemic. Some obviously had been through the fryer a few times. We asked for 1 portion sweet potato fries and the other portion potato fries and got only potato fries anyway. Kids meal came with ice cream dessert but we wanted to upgrade the kids desserts to adult size and we wanted to pay the extra for the upgrade but we were told we would have to buy both icecreams!!!! In effect we were asked to pay for 4 x ice creams for just two kids. Treat your customers like that and get a review like this!!! What do you expect????

Gave a second try (after 5 yrs) and sad to say absolutley terrible. Dull, dingy dirty carpet. Sadly bar was almost empty. A request for salad met with a hmph and what I would only regard as "a strop". Our waitress tried her best (and got a tip for her efforts) but could do nothing to improve things. My mixed grill was a joke: mushroom resembled and tasted like leather, chicken breast was hard and chewy as was the steak and sausage. I am convinced that had been under a heat lamp for a long time or reheated in a microwave.I asked to speak to someone in charge but no-one was forthcoming.Positively the worst Harvester we have visited. Best advice: STAY AWAY!!!

Enjoyable evening with nice food. They catered well for a large party (16 of us). The food was nice, plenty of choice and the salad bar always goes down well.

Apart from a somewhat extended wait to be booked in everything else about the service and food was excellent. Large party of 12, drinks order was smooth and accurate, food very similar and everyone's food seemed to be delivered within two or three minutes.Having used the restaurant many times in the past, and on different days of the week, we all thought service and food quality were better. One evening experience might have deterred a first time visitor from returning.Parking: Parking free for three hours; must register vehicle at check-in if likely to be staying longer

We dined at this restaurant midweek, and we’re very pleasantly surprised. We were immediately shown to a nice quiet table, and our server Silvie was promptly over to our table to take drinks orders. She was very attentive all evening, and very helpful when my little one accidentally spilled her drink all over the place. The service was outstanding, and we couldn’t recommend her and dinner at this restaurant more. We will defo be back.

Booked a table at the Harvester. My husband ordered the Christmas Dinner and I ordered the Christmas burger. My husband was really looking forward to his meal. Unfortunately the food wasn't very hot!!! We could see the food was being plated up and than sitting there waiting to be served. We told our server about this. At least the Christmas pudding was hot. This is the first Harvester where I can say that we won't be back!!
