We went to this lovely restaurant last night. All of the staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. They even moved our table to infront of the roaring fire because I was cold. The food was exceptional, we will be back very soon.

DO NOT ORDER A TAKE AWAY. Wait 2 hours plus for it, no apology or gesture for such a long wait. They mark it as ‘delivered’ on just eat so they don’t get marked down from the delivery apps. Good food but not worth the hours and hours of waiting and lack of apology.

We’ve been living close by for 2 years and would order once every 2 weeks of so. The food used to be brilliant every time, but something would always be missing. We put it up with that although it was so frustrating that there would always be something missing every time no matter how specific you would be with the order always one thing missing. We kept giving them extra chances and today they finally cracked it and the full order came. However, it was the worst curry we have ever had from anywhere. All of the food was cold and the popadoms and naan bread were actually stale. It was like it had all been cooked yesterday and bought to us today. My wife didn’t eat hers, I ate mine and wished I didn’t as I actually feel sick writing this. I’m gutted to be honest. This isn’t an angry customer writing a review aggressively, I’m just gutted because the food used to be so good, but how many chances can you give a place. Unfortunately I’m really sorry to say we won’t be ordering again. We actually tried to order from the new place at The George hotel tonight first but they were closed. We should have waiting a different day until they were open because that was beyond awful from cowfold cottage tonight.

We ordered via uber eats. The food took over 2 hours to arrive, and Icouldn't get through on the phone for an update.The food on previous orders was great. This time it was inedible. There was a thick layer of oil in the bag, the paratha were cold and oily. The curries were so greasy we couldn't eat them. After 2 hours wait, such poor service and inedible food we were very disappointed. Steer clear!

Had a fabulous flavoursome and colourful meal at Cowfold Cottage Tandoori. The owner served us and he made us feel so welcomed. The fresh naan bread was the best I've ever tasted and the chicken tikka korai was packed full of flavour and served sizzling on the hotplate. A lovely meal with the whole family.

Great food, great service (the waiter even brought some shakora from the kitchen so we could see what the ingredients were, having never come across this citrus fruit, previously!). Literally the only downside (to strong a word) is that we were the only diners there from 7:45 through 10pm! Don’t get it, as the food was exceptional! I think people are missing out on this little gem! We’ll be back, soon! Thanks for a delicious meal! ?
First time here for the 4 of us the food was lovely and most dishes inexpensive compared to a lot of recent take out places we've triedwe personally couldn't fault it and will definitely be heading back a second time

Two and a half hours takeaway on a Monday night avoid a total####show. No reason no apology just absolutely crappie service could have driven to London picked up a curry and back by now

My sister and I made a promptu stop and arrived just after it opened. Tudor style building and a little shabby inside. Seating on 2 floors with blow heaters to attempt to keep you warm. However our serving staff was courteous albeit shy and very attentive. The food was delicious and although we hadn't over ordered, we had the pleasure if taking the leftovers home to enjoy the following day. I would imagine the takeaways are popular but well worth visiting this historic building in warmer weather
