My husband, son and I very much enjoyed the fish tasting menu last night at Cassons. An 8 course exquisite menu of delicate flavours and surprises. Viv the chef has so much talent which easily rivals the professionals in the ‘great British menu’ ! One criticism which is very small is, I would have liked some background music especially at the beginning of the evening. Once the wine flows it isn’t so important. I would also have liked Viv to come out of the kitchen to take a bow to see how we truly appreciated the skill and effort involved!

What a gem this restaurant is! The Scottish taster menu was unbelievable. Viv was again pitch perfect in her pairing and presentation. I can't think of a finer restaurant to eat at.

Visited on a Saturday evening with friends who had not previously experienced the delights of Cassons and we enjoyed a fantastic evening. The menu was varied without being “too busy” and with just the right amount of options to keep everyone happy. All of the dishes were delicious, well presented and served by the very pleasant team who were attentive without being intrusive. All in all it as another fantastic experience

Just returned from our first visit to Cassons for Sunday lunch. We experienced a very warm welcome, and the excellent service continued throughout our visit. All three courses were wonderful, lovely presentation and delicious. We found it very difficult to find fault with our visit and will definitely return. Many thanks Phil and Jane

Can not recommend enough. The service was welcoming and helpful, the surroundings were cosy and relaxed, and the food was amazing! Looked lovely on the plate, as good as any Michelin starred restaurant and tasted fantastic, but was also so interesting to eat as wonderful mixtures and flavours. It's much more of a food experience than just dinner. To top that, it was very reasonably priced and great wine. Can not wait to go again. Lovely chef and front of house team. Thank you

Fabulous food especially the peach mousse which was in a chocolate shell resembling a peach. Lovely friendly staff. Had a nice chat with Cass. Prettily decorated for Christmas. Great to go to an all ndependent restaurant with fine dining cuisine. We will be bac.

Amazing little restuarant, food was so good, the staff and owners were lovely, couldn’t do enough for you. A real treat, Michelin star food, great value for money. I had some wonderful gluten free rolls during dinner so I asked where they got them from and the chef (Owner) kindly gifted me some as an early Christmas gift. I was so surprised, very grateful and thought how kind that was. Honestly a must try, you won’t regret it. Thanks again Cassons, can’t wait to return!
