This was right up there with the best meals I've eaten anywhere. It was a 60th birthday treat from my partner, and every aspect of food and service was impeccable, from the welcome from the owner (a fount of fascinating stories about the history of the building and the locality) to the efficient, friendly service from the two staff who took care of us throughout our meal. For my birthday, my partner sent me a list of well reviewed restaurants in and around Hampshire to choose from. After perusing through all the menus, we decided on Cassons for its elegant and well thought out offering (and it's HUGE wine list). We really enjoyed our meal at Cassons. The quail breasts and the halibut were particularly good and the "peach mousse" was great fun. Good selection of wine and friendly front of house team.
