The chips looked awful and tasted how the looked. Shrivelled, dry, over cooked. The gravy was watery. The cakes slices literally had a chip fat taste to them. I’ll not be going again.

Nice traditional fish restaurant offering a lot more than just that. Great location with plenty of parking available, pay and display, disabled free. Eat in or take away available. The eat-in is my choice, very clean, warm, great tasting food at good value price. Excellent friendly service.

Just been in not long ago for scallop and chips, staff said they had none left thats fine,went out to ask my partner what he wants.I went back in to order ,but the 2 young girls behind counter was serving 4 young girls who they knew with 2 portions of chips and discussing make up.I waited over 8 minutes and not once was I asked what I wanted ,staff members still chatting to young girls about make up .I've been in lots of times staff always nice ,sorry won't be going in again .

Been here for the first time as I usually get mine from a chippy (mother Hubbards) in Huddersfield which I thought was the best however the golden hind beats it by miles the fish and chips hear are absolutely amazing and the price is a bargain, i will certainly be travelling from Huddersfield to get my fish and chips from the golden hind from now on

Fantastic meal again today, we have been here for years and we are always happy. The owners Madison and Sam really look after us and all the staff are brilliant. We will be back on Sunday again and we travel from Pontefract twice a week, but it is worth it.

Person serving today her attitude stunk! Gravy like water curry sauce had no taste and the fish tasted like it has been on the shelf a year will not be going back to it I was disgusted with the service at this shop and the food!!

Ordered 2 chips , 2 sausage and a curry sauce was £10.70 , had about 9 chips in each container , no salt and vinegar. Absolutely appalling chippy
