We had booked a table for 6 people for Sunday Lunch on arrival the bar was nice and busy with a good atmosphere, we were then shown to our table away from the bar the room was grim it felt damp and was extremely cold there was no heating at all. We had ordered our drinks so asked if they could find us another table (because at this point we were ready to leave) they moved us to another part of the pub but it was no warmer they put the electric fire on which helped a little. We ordered the Sunday Lunch and it was really well presented the beef which was brisket was lovely plenty of vegetables unfortunately these were over cooked but the rest of the meal was fine. There are no starters on the menu which was disappointing! On the whole not a good experience and we will not be going back, such a shame as the staff were really lovely and did their best to make us more comfortable…..

Very quiet for Friday lunch but food was great. We both had the small plate which is great value. Scampi, chips and peas served with tartare sauce and then I had Apple and Peach crumble. My Dad had Ginger Sponge. Great portions and excellent service. Plenty off off-road parking.

Sunday lunch. We were greeted by a very apologetic waitress who advised one pie was out of stock and the other had changed. Its not an extensive menu anyway. We chose 2 beef roasts, 1 pork and a SF Chicken. After an age the food arrived, the roasts a deluge of gravy with more on the side. I had the pork and it was tepid, so not sure if it had been waiting a while for serving or they actually serve it that way. It was palatable but nothing exceptional. The beef was similar. We attempted desert. Again a ridiculous wait and my bread and butter pudding was cool. The others ordered honeycomb brownies, but were actually served bounty ones. I could see this being a real issue for someone with nut allergies. We paid and left but won't be returning.

Bar and car park set the tone; just not a welcoming. Decor is scruffy but the restaurant was filthy; that said the dog at the table next to us had a great time eating all the food off the floor.Actual plated food was very poor; mushy, salty and everything was served tepid to cold, albeit sometimes on scalding dishes. Staff seem really nice but massively missing some solid pub management here.

I would highly recommend The Sun Inn.The staff are really friendly - the food was lovely and you definitely get plenty. The prices are reasonable and the place itself has a nice atmosphere.Dogs are also

Lovely pub. Friendly atmosphere with a nice beer garden. The food is spot on and you get large portions. The Seafood platter was excellent as are the burgers.

We went last minute on a Saturday evening and were given a nice table away from the bar. We were served by Lorna who was very attentive and helpful. We shared Panko Prawns and Chicken Goujons in a JD sauce and both were delicious and good sized portions. For main my wife had the special Chicken Tikka kebab, which she really enjoyed and was packed with chicken. I had the 12 oz Gammon which was perfectly cooked with peas and a fried egg, which disappointingly was not runny but did not spoil the meal. The portions were so big we took a container of the excellent chips and some gammon home for the next day. The beer was well kept and the total bill including a pint of coke came to just over £49. Excellent value and service

Great food and bar staff. It was a little quiet but then we were there at 7pm before the kitchen shut at 8.

We stumbled across this pub after visiting Shiben Hall. Oh my days what can I say, the food was amazing and freshly cooked. The homemade chips were fantastic. We loved how old the building was and the history around it. The staff were super friendly and chatty. Couldn't do enough for us. Deffinitly not a place to miss.

Met when you walk from the carpark with a group of people smoking and vaping, including the staff. At the bar there were several youth who looked about 15 years old, one of which thought he has a comedian. Another child , younger, sat on the other side of the bar drinking beer at the bar what looked to have been left by someone. At this point I started to look around for the ball pools as I didn't realise it had become a soft play area. Kids at the bar sat with vapes in their mouths and one of the staff members walking around doing the same. It's pathetic and I won't be going back.Kid-friendliness: Obviously very child friendly!
