Stayed recently as a couple for 2 nights. The hotel was easy to find, had plentiful parking and is a fabulous building, with very impressive decor. The room was lovely with everything you would need, very comfy pillows and bed, great shower, lovely thick light blocking curtains. However despite the luxury of the place both of us only thought the stay was OK and it is difficult to say exactly why, just the little things: it didn't feel like somewhere you could comfortably wander around and explore or just leisure around in. Usually we like to use facilities, spars and pools the bar etc but not this time. It felt like most staff were working from a formula from which they didn't deviate and were not really interested in ensuring you made the most of your stay. On arrival very little was explained, no details of breakfast times, pool or spar arrangements etc. On leaving not even a 'have you enjoyed your stay, was everything OK?', despite no one else queuing behind us. No sweetener on the tables at breakfast only sugar. No teaspoons on many place settings, and none available by the coffee machine. No spare knives available by the toast etc so if your cutlery was taken there was no obvious replacements. Monday breakfast had lots of choice but decidedly less on Tuesday, eg no crumpets and no sign of any. The cooked breakfast selection was regularly topped up and things were hot. Despite usually eating in for evening meals we decided to go out but both evenings on return we were greeted with a very strong fishy odour which filled the entrance and lobby area, clearly from the restaurant. It was not pleasant to return to but had we eaten there we probably wouldn't have noticed. You can walk to a bus stop and catch a very regular service into Leeds so it's well positioned for that. A good hotel that others may well adore but just had that special something missing for us.

Had a pleasant 2 night stay at Oulton Hall Hotel. Some of the rooms could do with updating and as there was an issue with our first room, we were given a different, much smarter room for our stay. The spa pool is a little small and did get busy even mid week but managed a swim. Didn't have any spa treatments. The quality of the food in the restaurant is excellent and we enjoyed two evening meals. Good selection of breakfast. We found the staff very friendly and helpful and particular thanks go to Megan, Jay, Dylan and Jasmine.

First visit to the spa, we went for the pool, which was nice, and tried the steamroom too, never been in one so it was good.

Beautiful hotel. Lovely rooms and the service is 10/10. Lovely scenes round the area where its located. Will definitely recommend to anyone who's reading this and I will recommend to all my friends and family. Thank you for the excellent service.

This, I am sure, could be great but we were put in an upgraded room with a door to the adjoining room which provided zero noise proofing. Then, on our second night, the fire alarm went crazy, going off for short periods over 20 times (that's not an exaggeration). This happened at about 1.30am! To say sorry we received a letter under our door. The room based alarms were incredibly loud, and I wouldn't be surprised if some guests' hearing was damaged.

Luxurious, sumptuous, and palacios! From the welcoming greeting at reception..to all the members of staff we came across..we felt so looked after! Happy staff speaks volumes nowadays..and the friendliness, professionalism and dedication is really plain to see..well done to everyone! It was Mother’s Day..so a lovely atmosphere of people relaxing and enjoying themselves! Our evening meal was delightful ..as was breakfast! There’s a lovely spa area to relax in!The trip went far too quickly..but left feeling refreshed and pampered!Cant wait for our next visit!

Just WOW.Me and my mum decided to come away for a last minute break, we wanted to be near Leeds so we could have a shop! It was 20 mins into the centre and it looked lovely so booked - and it did not disappoint! The staff were beyond amazing. Customer service at the moment has gone down hill, but not at Oulton Hall - the customer service was 10/10. We asked if we could have afternoon tea but they were fully booked however they did everything they could to ensure we had one!The staff in the bar area/afternoon tea area were so lovely! The 2 young lads couldn’t have done anything more to make sure that our afternoon tea was exceptional. The rooms were immaculate (despite the fire alarm issue) which didn’t matter to us, we had a letter pushed through the bottom of every persons door to apologise about the fire alarm issue they had which was kind. Also! When we arrived into our room within 30 mins someone called up our room phone to ensure everything was ok with our room and we were happy. I loved this touch!!!Oliver in the dining hall, well he’s just fabulous and a great part of the staff at the hotel. All of the guests loved him and he had a little joke to cheer everyone up after the fire alarm going off in the night.I will definitely be returning! I highly recommend! The place is beautiful and every room is immaculate with perfectly chopped cushions (that’s what I like to see!)If I had 1 thing to say I would just mention that the reception staff could do with being up with the same customer service as all the other staff as I feel they are the most important (the first people the customers see and the last they see) we asked to borrow a charger and they were not in for helping us really - after 5 mins they decidedTo mention they do sell them if we wanted to buy one but didn’t mention this until we pestered a little. They weren’t rude just not as helpful as every other member of staff we met.Thank you Oulton Hall!!!Rooms: Immaculate

the hotel is beautiful from the outside but the inside (rooms) leave a lot to say. old, neglected, dirty - the worst was when I put a towel on the floor (on the carpet, which is worse) to replace it and the cleaning lady hung the same one on a hanger, leaving the impression that it was clean. Unfortunately, it had the same stains as the one I threw on the floor, and my hair was still inside. disgusting, I had nothing to wipe myself with. for this price it is a scandal, and to see the corridor itself you can just come and not pay big money for itRooms: dirty, old

We had a lovely experience on a recent spa day, the hotel, room and spa were fantastic! My massage therapist, Medina, was very professional and provided an excellent massage. The food was delicious! Would definitely recommend Oulton Hall for a spa day.

Lovely hotel for special occasions.

Lovely hotel and spa facilities.Walkability: There isn’t a pedestrian route out of the hotel grounds as far as I could see which was a little disappointing.
