The pub itself is lovely, very cosey and in a nice spot.Service was good. 2 out of the 4 meals ordered were enjoyed. What could be improved? The steaks. We ordered 2 sirloins, 1 medium, 1 medium rare. Both arrived over cooked on the outside, and rare on the inside. The outside was very chewy.I mentioned this when asked how everything was as we paid and was given the answer, oh well, I'll pass that on to the chef but there's not much he can do because of the stove/grill being old!I found that reply bizarre, if the chef can't control the stove and cook to guests preferences, maybe you shouldn't have steak on the menu.We would visit again but definitely avoid the steak.

Call in on way home for a meal ordered the curry, the rice was overcooked solid mass the chicken was that hard I could not eat it.it was the worst meal I have ever had. Would not recommend hare and hounds to anyone.plus it was well over priced for what you get. The board outside said Karon would sort out any problems but we never saw her.

Came for a Sunday dinner after a lovely day in Ilkley with my partner, we got seated in a lovely area. ‘Kirsty’ our waitress asked what drinks we wanted which we got quick, we then looked at the menu and saw the “Sunday Trio”, our waitress again ‘Kirsty’ mentioned the waiting time for the food was half an hour which was fine until we waited nearly an hour for our food that came flat cold with a rationed portion to what it’s described on the menu and with hardly ANY gravy on. £58.30 for 3 drinks and 2 COLD Sunday dinners!!Also to add the table that was sat next to us found a hair in their halloumi fries!absolutely disgusted will NOT be returning!24.03.24

We got here with a reservation made during the morning, only to come in and for them to tell us food wait was an hour. We then downloaded the app out of curiosity and got a voucher, to our surprise it wouldn't let us scan it saying that we needed the voucher to have existed for 24h. The waitress was very nice but overall disappointing. I don't think waiting an hour for food is acceptable, they should tell that when you make the booking.
