Bar staff were so drunk they charged double for our drinks and refused to rectify the error... The cast of The Hills Have Eyes that were drinking in there became hostile and created a threatening atmosphere.

Traditional pub that could probably do with a revamp - but given the cost of doing so and no doubt the limitations of what they can and can't do with the place due to it's history and local connections, it is what it is!Midweek tea time when I visited so not many folk in. That aside it struck me as being a great Local's pub and no doubt more bodies inside would make for a good atmosphere. On my visit I enjoyed a couple of good and cheap, pints of Yorkshire Blonde which hit the spot before I moved on. Great beer garden out the back with views over the valley and dogs are obviously welcome.I'll pop-in again the next time I'm passing.

Great pub..although I nearly knocked out some gents sat by pool table..sorry about that lol
Martin and Dee are doing a top job in The Shears. They've got together a great bunch of regulars and put on regular live music and Kareoke/DJ nights. The history behind this pub is heavily linked to the Luddites.

Called in to watch the football and grab a drink. The games room is a good size with a bar area and nice views out to the rear. The bar staff were attentive and polite. We'll come back.
