Traditional pub that could probably do with a revamp - but given the cost of doing so and no doubt the limitations of what they can and can't do with the place due to it's history and local connections, it is what it is!Midweek tea time when I visited so not many folk in. Martin and Dee are doing a top job in The Shears. They've got together a great bunch of regulars and put on regular live music and Kareoke/DJ nights.The history behind this pub is heavily linked to the Luddites.

July 2022

Called in to watch the football and grab a drink. The games room is a good size with a bar area and nice views out to the rear. The bar staff were attentive and polite. We'll come back.
