I love The Carleton! I’m very lucky to have moved here recently and be able to call it my local.The owner and the staff are so friendly and clearly try really hard to be an active part of the local community, including hosting and sponsoring the local running club, Carleton Running Community.There seems to be regular entertainment, including occasional singers and twice weekly quizzes as well as plenty of sport on the multitude of screens.If you are a dog owner it’s a superb place to bring your pooch, snacks and clean up stations are readily available and dog meals are available to purchase. They also organise a dog walk at the end of each month.Decent prices on drinks, and always a good selection of rotating guest ales. And whilst the food is never going to set the world alight, it’s always well cooked in a timely manner, nicely presented, filling and good value.Overall, a chain pub that manages to feel like a welcoming local community establishment.

It was a first-time visit for food, and it will not be my last. Great food (no pics ). Don't normally have a pie meal when out, but it was gorgeous and the gravy ? "spot on" ! Nice atmosphere, busy, but it wasn't overly packed. Staff friendly and helpful. Definitely going back ??
