I haven't been to the Staff of Life for a number of years. Visited on 8 December. The food was excellent. Freshly cooked with a great choice. Christmas Menu gave an added bonus. The only criticism was that the gravy on the Christmas Turkey, not everyone likes it swimming in gravy. Perhaps ask before serving or utilise a jug. All four people in my party had a wonderful meal.

Stayed Sept 23 for one night after a long days walk.They could not have been more hospitable, kind and welcoming. Lovely evening meal. Best cooked breakfast I have ever had ( ace sausages). Cosy and very comfy bedroom. Really reasonable price. All food obviously high quality produce. Beautiful area to walk in.

Fantastic steak and the best peppercorn sauce I've ever had. Really accommodating staff for us with a child, baby and a dog. Even had bottles of Erdinger, my favourite beer! Wanted to come for ages and will certainly be back!Can't recommend highly enough.

Lovely place! Went for a Sunday lunch after doing a hike nearby with the neighbours. The food was sublime and the service was amazing. One person in our group was extremely allergic to latex gloves and this seemingly was not an issue for them at all they were super helpful and made it very clear to us about what menu items can be had for those needs.In terms of speed of service, it was absolutely grand no surprise that this place is one of the best Sunday roast spots in the valley.The vibe was very nice and the decor seemingly changes subtly all the time too.Seems to be full of dogs, which is an absolute plus!This is exactly what I look for when finishing a crisp autumn hike with my dog and friends. Certainly coming back again soon!
This was our first visit since the pandemic and we weren’t disappointed. The ambience, service and food are excellent. I had a vegan pie and my partner had steak, we both enjoyed them. We’ll definitely be back.

Beautiful calm, welcoming atmosphere within a typical old fashioned british pub setting.Staff were amazing, very attentive and very friendly, service with a smile ?.The Food was delicious and great quality, I myself am fussy with my food and often need to customise my order and regularly in other restaurants it seems a difficult task but the staff here listen to me and cater for my needs.Can't recommend enough, you will not be disappointed ?
