“Tried to book online for my partners birthday, having totally forgotten it was Father’s Day. I was contacted the next day and advised that my requested time wasn’t available but they could accommodate us a little earlier. It was appreciated that they went to that trouble. We arrived to be greeted by three very pleasant members of bar staff who showed us our table, took our drinks order and then, in due course, our meal order without any fuss. Our meal arrived, beautifully prepared and very tasty. Sunday lunch (beef) was fabulous, we were both impressed with the variety and quality of the meal. The pub itself is very nicely presented and decorated, a very welcoming place indeed We will certainly visit again and will recommend to our friends”

“Last year, I left a review about how incredible the team at Hickory’s Smokehouse Horbury were when we booked a cabin to celebrate what would have been our good friend Paul’s 35th birthday after his passing. The kindness, thoughtfulness, and care they showed us during such a difficult time meant the world to our family and friends.

This year, we returned to celebrate him again, and once more the staff went above and beyond to make the evening truly special. Juice, Dave, and Rose looked after us so well—they were attentive, caring, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the night. Their warmth and understanding turned what could have been a very heavy occasion into one filled with smiles, laughter, and comfort.

We even managed to get our group photo with Juice and Dave, which has now become such a lovely tradition for us. It’s little moments like this that make a huge difference when you’re still navigating the loss of a loved one.

“Although the food let us down during our visit as it didn’t meet the expectations we were given by a friend. This was made up by our service from a young gentleman named Louis he was extremely attentive and caring and bonded with my wife over their passion for football it is for this reason we will definitely be booking again.
