I was visiting Wakefield and came across Luis Bar on Google maps. I rocked up outside and very nearly didn't go in, it's on a kind of rough looking side street, but I am very glad I did because the external appearance was deceptive. A fantastic gem of a place, with a nice atmosphere, decent beer, and friendly staff. Well worth a visit! Cask beers were about £4.20 / pint

Some staff great, others not. Today barrel had run out but barman had to wait for Michael to change barrel who was outside having a smoke. Stood waiting for ages whilst owner at end of bar fully aware of situation continued her chat with her friend enjoying her beer, drunk again as usual!

Very good brewpub about five minutes walk from Wakefield Kirkgate railway station. Eight cask beers - and two ciders - on handpump when I visited. There is an interesting mezzanine level seating area where the walls are adorned with old pub signs and historical information.

There is an independent two and a half barrel plant brewery housed in the cellar of the original 19 Malthouse for Fernandes Old bridge Brewery based at Chantry Bridge which later became part of Beverley Brothers (Eagle Brewery).

The greatest selection of craft ales I have ever seen. They do their own ales as this is microbrewery. There is live music every Sunday and free snacks and wonderful atmosphere only nice people naturally go there! Staff is very friendly always smiling providing excellent service. The best pub in the whole Yorkshire ! Absolutely love it and this is must to visit place in Wakefield when you are around!

Vegetarian options: Samosas served for free in the evening, crisps , bar snacks etc.

Parking: Parking is 2 minutes walk from the pub

A great place to meet friends, without screaming over loud music to be heard. Bartender brought around slices of mucky fat for us to snack on. Somethig I haven't has since my childhood, so it was a real treat for me.

I’m fairly sure this is the best pub in Wakefield. They have their own brewery on site and guest ale too.
