We have been loyal customers of Ask since moving to Wetherby 10 years ago. We’ve seen ups and downs through various changes of management but have continued to support them throughout. However this evening, we made a last minute booking and when we walked in we were greeted with the chef shaking his head at us disapprovingly. He then continued to eyeball us and we felt so uncomfortable! Had we not experienced this before I would have thought we were imagining it but the same thing had happened a while ago when we had booked last minute and were the last table of the night. At the time we shrugged it off that he must be having a bad day. But it seems the man just wants to go home and takes offence to people turning up at the end of the night. I find it a complete disservice to the restaurant and other hard workers there that he should be so begrudging of people turning up to give their hard earned money over. We promptly left and had a lovely meal at Piccolino in Collingham. I’m afraid we won’t be stepping foot back in there while that chef remains. It’s a shame.

Best gluten free vegan pizza of all the chain restaurants. Nice building and top service.

Had a great experience here. The food was lovely so props to the chefs, but the service was what made it! Even on a busy December Saturday they were all attentive and happy to help, especially our server Max. He smashed it! We’ll be back soon :)

Really lovely place for a big family dinner for my niece's birthday! We had a bit of a mishap with a spilt drink down the back of a rather fancy coat and both the waitress and manager were very good about it. No fuss was made, thankfully, and I was given details should I need drycleaning. People at the table had no idea anything had happened... Accidents happen but the professional way in which the staff dealt with it made it much less distressing. Next time I will use the provided coat racks :) Thanks for the delicious food!Kid-friendliness: It was my niece's 6th birthday and our large table was close to the food pass, with multiple children and a baby. The staff never once made us feel we were in the way as the children moved about and they were good with engaging them in their own ordering process too. This makes all the difference!

Food was great, service was fantastic, very friendly staff. Would recommend.Forgot her name (might of been Laura) but the short lady with the tattoos was a delight.

Update from previous visit. I went alone I ordered the same meal mushroom risotto. It wasn't great, it was very sloppySome of the service was really slow, didn't mind too much as the weather was lovely so sat outside

Always been somewhat disappointed with the chain and specifically this location however after a couple of years we thought we would give it another go with my wife as we had a child free day .Had the beef brisket pappardelle and whilst delicious there was raw pasta. I don’t mean Al dente or underdone, you heard a genuine snap it was that raw. How an earth can this happen please?Won’t be rushing back again, still a disappointment which is a shame

Don't expect authentic Italian cookery. It was my first time here and I'm not going back if I can help it. I arrived first and we had booked so I gave the waitress the reservation name and she went to a man on the bar who shouted and waved his arms at her to put me anywhere. Off to a good start. I've been to lots of Italian restaurants and the food was loaded with chilli which is not really something I associate with Italian food. I ordered the rigatoni piccante pasta dish and it was inedible. The heat from the chillies was unbearable and there was no actual flavour or sauce on the pasta. It was not a ragu. What I got was pasta, peppers, onions, chillies and mini meatballs with a watery bit in bottom with melted cheese on top. It reminded me of loaded nachos. I attempted to avoid the chillies and eat the rest until I bit into a meatball that wasn't properly cooked. The worst meal I've ever had. My friend had king prawn parpadelle which she ate but again she said was super hot with chilli. Our starter of garlic bread with balsamic red onions was unpleasant too. It was soaked in melted butter and the onions looked and tasted like sweet pickle out a jar. I thought it was Branstons to be honest. The manager came over when I didn't want to have my pasta boxed up for later and I explained about the chillies and he then asked me ' but apart from the chillies you liked it?' So I was forced to say I didn't like it at all. An uncomfortable conversation in front of other customers and I just wanted to leave but on getting bill waitress said they'd removed my main course. My friend and I normally meet in a Thai restaurant and we tried this for a change- never again. No flavour, all heat and hotter than Thai food. Waitresses were nice but felt sorry for them with a manager like that. One to avoid unless you're just having a pizza.

Don't you hate it when Google claims you have visited a place and you have never been there, ever, in your life? I shall continue to give reviews about places until the management complain to Google about the randomness of this whole process. The famous square pizzas at this restaurant were awful. Their Google radar is very powerful. The whole experience left me feeling hungry. Where is this place anyway?Parking: Lovely to park here. I was using my work vehicle at the time. I'm a long distance lorry driver, as Google well knows...
