Large group of 14 of us on a Saturday evening had great friendly and helpful service by all the staff from the manager, bar staff and waitress. Great service really does make the difference. The food was flavoursome and mouthwatering too. We had a range of starters, mains and desserts but personally I really enjoyed my moules mariniere to start - the garlic, white wine and cream sauce was delicious. Which there was the option of this for mains too as a bigger portion with chips - good to know for next time. I also loved my steak cooked just right for medium rare. My friends really enjoyed their meals too including the vegetarian lentil cottage pie, the fish and chips - commented on the delicious triple cooked chips and cooked to perfection batter. Desserts were all delicious too and finished the evening off perfectly. The pub was busy as expected for a Saturday evening, including happy drinkers at the bar too which is always great to see. Will definitely be returning with friends and family again, and would love to try out the Sunday lunch soon too which everyone talks about.

We just love the most delicious food at the Seven Stars. My son is 11 and absolutely loves going. We had a free day last Saturday and out of all the things he chose to do he chose go to this pub to eat. We had pigs in blanket as nibbles, and the Camembert with red onion jam which was just a fabulous combo. Then we enjoyed the Seven Stars burger, the scampi, gammon, and their gluten free fish and chips. A very happy family so full we couldn’t fit in any desserts on this occasion. The Seven Stars deserves 7 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We come here quite often because the food is always delicious and the staff are very friendly. We have recently had 2 Christmas meals up there and the dishes served were all very generous portions, delicious & good value for money. The pub has a lovely atmosphere & will definitely be back soon. Merry Christmas to all involved in making this pub outstanding xx

Lovely venue. Great staff, Chloe was particularly helpful. Menu = pub standard, nothing special, disappointing choice.

Very poor meal of puy lentil cottage pie . Absolutely tasteless just a load of ,probably , tinned lentils with a few onions in it ,topped with sweet potatoes. Other tasty vegetables could have been added to the lentils to make it at least taste of something . Served with something green drizzled on plate and over cooked carrots.

Most unwelcoming pub ever visited. The manager asked if we'd booked, was evidently put out to serve us and hustled our group of 9 onto a table that we "could have for 1 hour till 4:45pm." The place was less than half full with lots of tables with reserved signs on. Evidently now a restaurant masquerading as a pub.

Regulary have Sunday roast here which is always brilliant. Popped in midweek, the the pub as cosy as ever and beer spot on, food less so. I had triple cooked chips and haddock, lots of batter small tastless piece of haddock. Triple cooked chips were greasy, unlike any triple cooked chips I've had before. Hubby had honey glazed wiltshire ham, which was very proccesed. All in all, not the meal I thought it would be i.e. I was hoping for hand cut ham on the bone and fresh haddock dipped in a light batter. Chips from potatoes and not from the freezer.Prehaps expecting to much, will stick to Sunday lunch in future.

I was walking with a group of about 10 friends last Saturday and called in afterwards for a drink. We were asked if we'd booked a table which we hadn't as we only wanted a drink. We were then told that we could have a table for one hour though we would like to have stayed longer and perhaps had a snack. This message was not given in a pleasant, friendly manner and we had the impression we were a nuisance rather than welcome customers. When we left there was no-one waiting for our table and plenty of spaces at other tables. Perhaps this pub doesn't want drinkers!

We were meeting old friends who live close to the pub which perhaps enhanced the service we received but other guests also appeared very happy, too. I have marked down the food as the steak strips were over cooked and could have been more

Ok, this is my local pub. Having said that we’ve been regularly coming here for various lunches, dinners etc. It never fails. Sunday lunch today with a friends was another winner. A great varied menu and the Sunday roast a delight.

Friendly village pub with lovely staff. The food was excellent at reasonable prices. A true hidden gem with a nice choice of vegetarian options.

My first visit to this pub and it was nice, not amazing but very nice. Staff were fabulous and we were very well looked after. The ambiance was also ‘nice’ but we were seated near a busy walkway so it wasn’t very relaxing.Food could have been a little better. For starters I had the breaded prawns and chilli dipping sauce. To be honest it looked like it was 6 small Iceland frozen breaded prawns and for £7.50 I felt it poor value for money. My husband and son had the chorizo scotch eggs which they said were lovely but they were small and came cut in half rolling about on a large half empty oval plate with a tiny bit of greenery on one side.I had the nut roast for my roast lunch, I was promised the nut roast was excellent….it was just ok, a lot of veg/stuffing and very few nuts. The veggie selection that came with it however was superb and possibly the best roast potatoes ever ?My son and husband had the ham egg and chips which they enjoyed.Desserts were ok. Two of us had the Eaton mess but it’s made with shop bought hard cooked meringue which isn’t as nice as a bit of good old gooey chewy meringue. It was really tasty if not my entire calories for the week. They did come up trumps though on my decaff tea as few places bother to offer this.Would I rush back, probably not but I would definitely recommend it for a nice meal and lovely service, which often is what makes a place great.

No music over the top of the conversation - wonderful! It should get six stars for that alone. Having the random mix of question cards from Trivial Pursuit was great addition to the tables. Food was great too.

It deserves the seven stars in its name. Make a reservation if you are interested in their Sunday roast.

As a Coeliac, it's fantastic to be able to have lunch at a pub where not only are lots of menu items marked gluten free ?, but the food and service are also excellent. The waitress asked us if we had any food allergies, and I immediately felt able to relax. The cider batter gluten free fish and chips, no exaggeration, were the best I've ever tasted. The only thing that could be improved would be to turn the music down. This pub should go for Coeliac Society accreditation!Dietary restrictions: Great for gluten free and Coeliacs
