I had avoided this pub for a few years as I once had the worst Sunday lunch of my life in here. But I heard rumours it had really improved, so since I was cycling past yesterday on a cold winter day I stopped in to see if I could get some soup, which was all I wanted. We came to the New Inn today to meet our niece and family for lunch. We come from South Gloucester and we have some seriously good pubs around us; however, we were blown away by the New Inn! From the greeting on arrival, being shown to our table, the speed with which our drinks order was taken, and similarly for our choices of food, the pleasantness of the staff, everything was just right! We ate Sunday lunch in this lovely pub, the food was excellent, we tried two different roasts and the fish of the day, all cooked to perfection. The landlady tried hard to help us out and managed to fit us in at the last minute which was great. Next time I will be booking in advance. Highly recommended!
