Unfortunately the place and quality of the food has gone downhill, service was slow and it felt like we had been forgotten, won't be hurrying back.Parking: Parking is limited but there is free on street parking

I have been here during a business trip. Local colleagues recommended to go there. The food and the drinks were very good and the atmosphere exactly how I imagined.I can really recommend this place to spend a nice evening with friends and/or colleagues.

A delightful experience: food quality was exceptional; the management team and staff were friendly and very welcoming and attentive.

Good beer, good food (although we only had starters - trying to lose weight after Christmas!), and the staff were very friendly.

We had a great night!Everyone working there was super nice and welcoming. The food arrived in great time and was beautiful. I had a proper 'Ratatouille' moment with a tear in the corner of my eye when I had the first bite of my steak and stilton pie. It took me right back to special family dinners at my grandparents' when I was a kid. A great time.Portions are perfect, prices seem to make sense for the quality/quantity you get. And the drinks selection was very nice as well. All in all, a great place to go!Thanks to the boh and the foh, we will most definitely be back and wish you all all the best

Another lovely lunch with friends . Never disappoints , excellent service from Mark and the girls . Really great choices on the menu . Our last two visits were at the Wesley which were also excellent as the Tap was closed , so very happy to lunch there today . Both wonderful country pubs but the Tap is my favourite .

Such a great space. Food was excellent....but what made our visit was such polite, casual yet professional the service was.

Last ate Sunday lunch here in April and unfortunately had a below average meal. The pub is so quaint and welcoming, and the staff still very friendly, but our meal was not as enjoyable as before. Service was slow and they just seemed overbooked for the staff to cope with. My tagine starter was lovely but main meal of beef and pork roast was not hot and the beef sinewy/chewy despite a lovely taste. We wanted to order dessert but was told this would be at least a half hour wait! Disappointed as we've had lovely meals here in the past.

I had booked the restaurant for a family lunch today as they offered an excellent festive menu. The reservation was confirmed by email, and they asked us to select our dishes prior to visiting as I expect they are very busy at this time of year. We duely did this and returned our choices by email. Yesterday I received another email asking me to. confirm that we were still eating there today, and the number of persons. I did this by return of the email. Today we showed up for our 12.30 reservation at this lovely country pub/restaurant, were welcomed by Seline and asked whether we had a reservation. She looked this up on their computer and asked us if we wanted drinks. We waited in the bar area until the whole family was there and were then shown to a nice table in the corner of the dining room. The pub was beautifully decorated for its Christmas season. When Seline brought menus of the day to our table we were a little surprised and said we had ordered our dishes on the festive menu already. This threw her completely as they had no festive menu on today and she went to speak with Mark the owner. On her return she apologised for the mixup and offered us the turkey but we would have had to wait another 40 minutes for it to be prepared. We declined this and ordered from the regular daily menu. The food was served very promptly as was a bottle of wine. My steak and stilton pie with mash and green vegetables was beautifully presented and tasted wonderful - probably the best pie of the day I gave ever tasted. Others had the fish and chips which was also delicious. The desserts were equally delicious and we finished with coffees. A thoroughly satisfying meal, with excellent service with a smile from Seline and her colleague. Maggie. It was also nice that Mark recognised that the mixup was totally their fault, and suitably compensated us for the disappointment over our missing Christmas meal. I cannot reccommend this pub/restaurant too highly, for its staff, quality of food and excellent service, and we plan1/ to return probably for a joint birthday celebration in early 2024. Thank you all for a lovely day as it turned out,

Having only eaten at the Langley Tap once before, many years ago and well before its fairly recent refurbishment, we were not sure what to expect. The Tap describes itself as a "traditional village pub", and in many ways it still is, in that the welcome is warm and genuine, the whole ambience is relaxed and friendly, and villagers can still just pop in for a quick pint if they want to. But it would probably do better to describe itself as more of a gastro-pub. We were a party of ten, celebrating one 80th and two 82nd birthdays, all within the last few weeks, In view of the size of the party the pub had asked us to pre-order our food, which was fair enough, but unfortunately the kitchen prepared one too few of the popular home-made steak & ale pie and one too many of the almost-equally popular chicken supreme, so one unfortunate chap then had to wait another 20+ minutes for a fresh pie to be prepared, since all food is cooked fresh to order. He took the delay very well, helped by an excellent pint of Swordfish, and like the rest of us he thoroughly enjoyed his pie when in came - but the rest of us had finished our main courses by then! There was also some confusion over the creme brulee desserts; several had ordered the Rasbeery one as per the menu we were sent, only to be told that tonight it was banana, not raspberry; most accepted that but my wife really wanted the raspberry and didn't fancy banana, so instead she opted for stickly toffee pudding, which she said was excellent, as was my own apple & berries crumble, served with ice cream as I requested even though, as I was told, "It comes with custard but I'll see what I can do!" However, the pre-ordered brulees, when served, were actually rasperry ones - they had obviously been pre-prepared specially! Some of the above may sound like criticism. It's not. The whole evening was a huge success, and everyone, I think without exception, was more than happy with the food, the drink, the service, the friendliness of the various girls who served us, the lovely natural-stone walls and fireplace (with glowing woodburner) and the whole atmosphere of the place. My one and only gripe is that for a "traditional village pub" the prices were well on the high side, even allowing for recent huge rises in the cost of food generally. Most eating-out places have had to increase their prices, but here these were several pounds GBP abpve the average for the area. Even that will not, I suspect, deter any of us from going back for our next group celebration!

We last minute booked here on a Sunday afternoon and boy are we glad we did! Walked in to such a cosy vibe! Nicely lit, lovely relaxing music..perfect for a Sunday chill! The best part was of course the food! Wow! We had a starter, main and dessert and every single dish was just as beautiful as the last! I would highly recommend the white chocolate and raspberry creme brulé! I didn't want it to end!We were completely full and 100% satisfied.Unfortunately we aren't local but if we was we would be here every week.Well worth a visit if you are around the area!Thank you to all the team who served us. You all do a wonderful job!
