Exceptional lodgings and food for the price. Makes for a great Ridgeway

I cannot recommend the Rose and Crown and its staff highly enough. It is everything a good pub should be and more than that it has developed into a true community hub. Not only does it offer what you'd expect, in terms of great food and great service, it also hosts an excellent array of events. Top marks for everything from me.

Lovely characterful pub near The Ridgeway and Wayland's Smithy.

We did not eat but saw the food being served, and everybody was complimentary. For a Wednesday evening, it was good to see a large village pub packed out. The car park was completely full. Obviously doing something right. Well done.

Centrally located on the High Street a good dog friendly pub serving decent food and drinks.

One of a kind experience!Booked a last min stay for an unexpected work night away... What an unexpected gem.Me and a colleague enjoyed a superb meal... One of the best scotch egg starters I've ever had, followed by an epic homemade steak pie main which was equally superb. Was then expecting to have a quiet pint before retiring to the rooms...yet spent the evening enjoying the company of the locals in some surreal impromptu group karaoke experience... A first for me but what looked to be an everyday occurrence for them... All sounding amazing with their seemingly semi professional standards... Whilst we attempted to join in badly... Although peaking in our contribution around bohemian rhapsody!Great community vibe like I've never seen before. I only wish I lived here!Friendly staff.Lovely rooms.Amazing food.Wonderful atmosphere.Big thanks to all the staff, locals...Steven on guitar and Dave on the electronic drum kit... For a memorable work night away. Thanks for having us and we shall certainly be back!

What a fabulous hidden gem. While attending an event at Sheepdrove Organic Farm I stayed at The Rose & Crown. The staff were delightful, the room was lovely and the food delicious. As a woman travelling alone this was the perfect place to stay. It has such a lovely feel.

Lovely pub but came here to eat was told no tables available to eat AT all tonight so after coming this far to eat we decided to get a beer before leaving but in the Time of sitting and drinking in the bar area, Later comers who sat down were told they had no tables to eat but were fine to eat in the bar area amazing we were not even looked at or offered this opportunity Bit of a joke I would say

A lovely place to stay, especially if visiting Lambourn, or even if you want to visit historical area's. Staff are very friendly, very dog friendly. Love staying here.
A random trip out and as random things can be a very nice evening. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and surprise, surprise, food service on a Monday evening! Cosy seating by the fireplace. It wasn't a planned trip but the menu was tempting so a selection of starters it was which were all good and didn't disappoint. Will be a proper destination in the future

This was a very welcome "cider and a bag of crisps" stop-off at the half way point of our circular walk from Ashdown House. Very welcoming and have already looked at the Sunday roat menu for our next visit!

Stopped off here after visiting a friend in Swindon. The wife and I had beef stout pie and sticky toffee pudding. Was Absolutely delicious, Huge portion of chips all perfectly cooked. We’ll done give this friendly pub a try.
