This restaurant has a reputation locally for being expensive, but this is so far from the truth. The prices are extremely comparable with similar establishments close by.Six of us went for breakfast on Sunday last week. We had a fabulous full English, eggs florentine, toast, unlimited coffee and tea etc.On Sunday we tried the Sunday roast. The beef almost melted in the mouth and the desserts tasted amazing. We had a lovely dinner here for our annual work do.The food was fantastic and all the staff were so attentive and made great efforts to get all the food out in good time. I had the vegetarian Wellington, which was delicious!My husband and I also stayed the night in the barn accommodation. Very comfortable with lovely facilities. We also had a very nice breakfast. We stayed at the Star for one night as a treat after Christmas. The service and food were outstanding , a seasonal menu , fabulous wine list and amazing staff . We had the most amazing stuffing scotch egg , Partridge and slow cooked beef cheeks.Breakfast was enormous, it beat both me and mny husband , we should probably have gone for something lighter, but the full english was so tempting.
