Nice traditional pub with good pub food; Chicken Chirizo is a nice choice if you are eating. In places the pub is looking a little tired the Internet is bad and the loos are not the best, but it is an old building, so have to give it a bit of a pass.Would recommend it though, staff are friendly and it has a nice atmosphere.

I enjoyed staying here with my husband. We stayed for two nights - Saturday and a Sunday - we didn't opt in the breakfast (an additional £12 each), so can't comment on that but I can recommend the local faggots. They were really dense but still moist and tasty, my husband had the beef and plum pie, which he said he enjoyed. The room we had was quaint and the bathroom was a good size, the bed was a little small but we are used to a king, but it was comfortable tho. The room was nice and warm and we couldn't really hear much noise from the pub. The road outside can get busy in the morning but that's nothing to do with the pub. We found the staff friendly. We would stay here again

Weekend Wildness

We popped in here for an evening meal on a weekend. It's a beautiful place and full of history. There are all sorts of memorabilia scattered about the place. It was pretty spacious in there and there were plenty of seats available. Seems we were just in time because it soon filled up.We stopped for an evening meal and we were not disappointed.

Stayed for one night in a twin room. Small but adequate room with small Tv and tea making facilities. Breakfast was extra £12.95 but good value and if anything to go by the meals would’ve been as good . If you’re thinking of eating there you should book in advance as it was very busy The staff and owners were lovely the service was excellent. The pub has a rural and relaxing feel to it.

Lovely traditional pub with friendly staff, an open fire and excellent grub. Dogs are welcomed and the prices are very reasonable (especially compared with the high street!).Food & drinks: Proper homemade pub grub, just what you need after a day walking the Cotswolds

The Crown & Trumpet Inn is a 17th-century hotel and pub in the picturesque village of Broadway in the Cotswolds (UK).I visited for lunch, and this was my first experience there. The building is pleasant, and one lovely touch was the presentation of the cutlery and napkin, which were in a paper pouch.Food was expensive. For example, one scoop of ice cream cost two pounds.Food quality was mediocre. The chips and onion rings were (in my view) excessively greasy, and one of my guests believed that her meat had not been freshly cooked but reheated. Two waitresses were on duty. One did not know what one of the menu items was when I asked for details, and she had to ask other customers. She also got my drink order wrong; instead of the requested tap water, her colleague arrived with tonic water. The other lady was the one who served at my table. She was unsmiling throughout. When I left, the pub was quiet. Despite saying goodbye to them, neither waitress bothered to reply or thank my party for our custom. The business owner can make one immediate improvement that is simple and costs nothing. The waiting staff must be fully knowledgeable about the menu. They must also greet customers on arrival, smile throughout their contact, enquire whether everything is alright, and at the end say goodbye and thank customers.

Perfect Sunday dinner here last week, loved it! Sensible price, good food, and when I asked for a small glass of wine, I wasn't given a large and told "That's how we sell it." Spot on.

Lovely from start to finish. Home cooked food. Original pub food at its best.Good value.Waitress was so helpful happy and friendly in her work. An asset to your business.

Absolutely the worse experience. The shower was cold or very hot no middle ground. I asked if the bar keep knew anything about hiring a wheel chair the the shambles in York to which he replied no, fair enough however upon walking away the staff started mocking me, also fair enough but at least wait till I am out of ear shot way it made our older friend who needed such service feel embarrassed. We left for the day and returned to find that they did not even tidy the room up or offer to do so. I would rate this place a zero however they will not let me post without giving it one starFood & drinks: Food not much to write home about

As a pub, this place looks pretty good, albeit a real blokey drinking man’s pub. I am reviewing it as a hotel. The rooms are from a bygone era, not in a good way. Extremely dated and cramped and the bathroom is just big enough to turn around. I realise this is s function of it being a mediaeval pub but it is extremely compromised. Creaky floorboards from all over the rest of the building will keep you awake and it’s pricey too. No milk for the tea. Disappointing.

A three night mini break with friends in Broadway. The Crown and Trumpet was the perfect location, close to the high street and all the attractions of this beautiful town. The welcome was warm, the staff friendly, the range of beers most impressive and the evening meal was excellent. What was the highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the quality of the breakfast and the friendliness of Karen who takes the role of breakfast chef, waitress and chamber maid. The ingredients of the breakfast were superb and all locally sourced, beautifully cooked and served with genuine friendship and attention to making sure our every need was taken care of. Karen is a great asset to this pub. The only issue that stands in the way of a 5* rating was the comfort and size of the beds. Karen suggested that bedroom refurb was already on the agenda. That sounds a good plan. Thank you.

Had pre booked for our large family group staying locally. Really accommodating, happy, chatty, engaged staff. Happy to advise on beer choice (Shagweaver was excellent - thanks for recommendation). So nice to see a ‘proper’ pub busy with visited and locals.

We have been for the odd drink in the last year and one lunch but not dinner since covid. It was a bit disappointing to see pretty much the sane menu as the previous owner had (a few more dishes would be nice or daily specials). That said we all enjoyed what we had and as we haven’t been for a while the menu choices were ok. The staff are excellent especially the chap with the beard. They work hard and are super friendly. We will be back again soon.

Had an enjoyable stay in what is an authentic welcoming English pub. The room was comfortable and location perfect for our visit. The staff, particularly Karen, were friendly, personable and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent and I would have no hesitation in staying there again. There is a car park less than 150 yards away and the hotel rate made it great value for money.

Good location friendly staff but the room was very disappointing. Dead flies on the net and floor, dirty stained wall paper, carpet had seen better days. Tried to re-book elsewhere but full. Couldn’t sleep due to itching. Didn’t eat there this spoiled our trip. No parking and not antique furniture in our bedroom.
