Had dinner with friends , would have given 5* but the starter of beetroot and goats cheese was so small and not cheap. Food was though delicious. Service was excellent and attentive. My fish main was excellent and more in proportion to the cost.

Probably eat here 4 times a year, last time was December opted for the Christmas lunch, which was a sort of wrap idea, very disappointed with gravy. Where everything was in the wrap. Bit like an M & S wrap. Eat there today, starter was very odd, no taste, chicken paste or something, not edable left it. Main course was presented well,But no taste, really disappointed, Russels, so disappointed. Think you might of lost us today, one mistake that happens, two…

We visited the restaurant here and had a great three course meal. Extremely tasty with good size portions. Good service with friendly staff. Wasn't that busy when we went in but I'd definitely recommend booking especially weekends.

Food & drinks: Really good food, service could have been slightly better. But we are fussy

Late booking for dinner, but we were accommodated without fuss. Wonderful food, not the usual heaps of stodge, tasty and for me, about as good as it gets. Great attentive and knowledgeable staff, not cheap, but we will travel the 2 hours each way just for an overnight stay again.

Booked a nights bed & breakfast stay on our trip to the Cotswolds. Hotel is in a perfect location on the main high street. Had a great room on the front of the hotel with views of the main high street. Book in was quick and efficent with everything explained concerning our stay. The room had everything you need and was of a good quality. The breakfast was amazing with everything freshly cooked and top quality products. Would not hesitate booking if in the area again

Lovely hotel and very helpful staff. Avoid room 2 if it’s a windy night. Hotel signage outside the window grated and banged all night which kept us awake. Informed staff to suggest a permanent fix needed on signage but no apology offered.Rooms: Avoid room 2 if it’s a windy night. Hotel signage outside grated loudly and kept us awake!
I have previously eaten here and thoroughly enjoyed it. Hence we returned.Unfortunately we were very disappointed. Albeit one of their busiest days with the Christmas market , we booked early to avoid the main rush. The festive set- menu was very poor standard . Everything had been pre-prepared , even the potatoes which were difficult to cut . When it came to dessert time , I opted for cheese board instead. We travelled from Leicester and booked well in advance.Unlikely we would return .

We were a bit jet-lagged and hungry. We chose the festive Christmas menu. Tomato soup was delicious, especially the Parmesan crusted tomato in the soup! We both had the pan-friend cod for main dish which was okay. What really sold us was the desserts. My husband had two drinks, both espresso martini which he loved! The other was a gin drink. Service was decent once we settled in. Friendly folks! Very dog-friendly.

We had a meal that was five star in every way, The steaks etc.were cooked to perfection and I would recommend the soufflé which was perfectly cooked and presented. The chef has our compliments!

Really lovely restaurant serving wonderful food, just a shame that on the night we visited the ambience in the restaurant was tarnished by a group of very drunk customers. It was sad to witness one individual being repeatedly lecherous towards a member of the waiting staff, and disappointing that management did not intervene. Come on Russell’s - you can do better than that. Your food is amazing - protect your staff and don’t let the ambiance be spoiled by a drunken minority.
