Dissatisfied from a few years ago hotel has changed curb appeal scruffy gone down a lot lights in room not working mould in bathroom needs attention to detail and unsavoury characters in the hotel . Our door was knocked in the middle of the night and doors being slammed very unnerving I’ve stayed at this hotel many years but now won’t be returning.

We stayed overnight Saturday 9th September and after staying in several similar-rated hotels, found the Bromsgrove Hotel & Spa a breath of fresh air. The rooms were clean and spacious, the evening meal was excellent (even though arriving late) and the service was excellent. The breakfast staff (especially Snehal) were extremely polite and helpful, making our stay a wonderful experience. Thank you.

Booked for an overnight stay. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was nice for a buffet style, staff friendly and helpful. The price was very good but had to pay for parking at £5 for the night, swimming pool was £4 and internet was £7. , so all added up still not a bad price.

Was there on a Breaks2Go coach holiday food was good, very clean hotel with large bedroom. Staff were very helpful and all them spoke to you. I don't understand the negative reviews. Would stay here again.

Negative. Hotel needs a little tidying up - garden needs jetwashing to sort out slippery deck, and some weeding/cutting back in the grounds. Each room needs checking for minor defects such as holes that need filling/painting, fridges that need a good clean. Would make a much better impression without huge expenditure. Positives. Staff were unfailingly cheerful, polite, and so very helpful. They couldn't do enough to help. The food was simple but well prepared and served. Staff were very helpful re special dietary requirements.

We arrived later to check in due to a celebration dinner. When we arrived we were greeted by a young man who looked like he was ready or bed. I asked why disabled guests had to pay for parking which he ignored me. When we got in our room there were no towels just a hand towel. The lights were on and the TV was also on. The bed only had one pillow each. So had to call for more. There was no number to call reception, so we had to call the actual hotel. When the pillows arrived we asked about WI-FI….. £18 !!!! No way was I paying that …. Breakfast was hard for me as I’m disabled. to self serve is hard and I was just watched by staff. Won’t be going again. Shame as hotel itself is lovely.

Decent enough hotel and to be compared with Premier Inn or similar certainly nothing like Marriott. You get the feeling that once this was a stunning hotel that’s now just a bit tired and in need of updating. Breakfast was ok (not spectacular) and comparable to other similar priced offerings. For the money charged it was perfectly fair and reasonable. One bad thing to note is £7 charge for regular wi fi. Not acceptable in 2023 when there is also such poor phone signal in the area. Come on guys you really need to sort that out!!!

We held our Golden wedding celebration here in July 2023. Karen and her team were excellent. They were extremely helpful throughout the planning leading up to the event, and couldn't have been more helpful on the day itself. Nothing was too much trouble. The Elgar suite provided an ideal location. It was a good layout with a sperate bar and toilets for our guests. The hot buffet provided was delicious. Our thanks go to the chef. I can not commend them all too highly. Thank you Karen, and the all the team.

Excellent, friendly hotel. Very clean. The staff were so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The food was very good and plentiful. Lovely spacious room, nice atmosphere. We were made to feel very welcome. Made a visit to the pool, it was very good.

Absolutely shocking hotel. I stayed here and paid for parking on arrival, £5 per 24 hours, I paid for 2 nights, on my card. Entered my number in to the tablet then went on my way. Months later I received a £185 charge from parking eye, to cut a long story short, parking eye have taken me to court because the hotel didn’t inform them I paid, nor did they inform them on the many phone calls I made to the hotel from October. I have no choice now but to put a claim in myself as this has cost me a mortgage. Manager was at first helpful, but when he didn’t get a response either from parking eye, tried to blame me. Aside from that massive issue, the spa was so expensive, by spa I mean a dirty pool and dirty changing rooms. It was awful. We paid for 2 days of the spa with my children, we only went once because it was beyond grim. Bathroom full of mould, mould on net curtains and windows. Yes there are refugees there, which is no problem at all, it was nice to see they were safe, but the hotel is getting a lot of money for this, so why aren’t they spending it on the hotel. They seem to be getting a lot of money from parking eye too. Reception staff very rude. I get that a customer facing job can be tedious, but get another job if you can’t remain professional and customer centred. I not only wouldn’t stay here again, I will be going above and beyond to make sure no-one else suffers the same fate we have. I wasn’t going to leave a review, I just chalked it up as a poor hotel and wouldn’t return, but the damage they have caused myself and my children with their questionable contract with parking eye, I could not remain quiet on. Oh and if you want to call the hotel, it’s 74p per minute from a mobile, and you can not speak to anyone at parking eye at all. This is not a coincidence. Do not pay the fine from parking eye, I was told by the hotel not to reply to the county court summons because they had dealt with it, do not believe that, reply to the court and fight it all the way. These people can’t continue with this boarder line fraudulent behaviour.

This hotel has the potential to be outstanding, just needs to fix a few things. It is clean, with large rooms which are reasonably priced. However, £5 per day for parking or a nasty letter from Parking Eye is not great. Why not just add that onto room booking fee and take away the hassle and nasty taste it leaves. Also the fact the rooms are not serviced during your stay - why? They use Covid as an excuse, but surely people need more provisions like tea/coffee/loo rolls etc if staying more than one day, as a minimum. We did ask for this and they did reluctantly service the room during our stay as 'an exception'. Staff were mixed, some friendly some extremely grumpy. There was rarely anyone on the bar, and when they were present they were mostly unfriendly. Comments like 'I'm closing everything down at 10pm so make that your last game of pool!' were crass, inpolite and made us feel unwelcome. No please or thank you. Also for a hotel that strives to get every last £ out of people, why close the bar so early when you have 30-40 paying customers still wanting drinks at 10pm? Finally WiFi. The connectivity for their free Britannia WiFi is awful. It works near reception but keeps dropping out. This is a basic requirement and needs fixing. People expect to be able to connect from hotels to work, stream movies etc... this is not acceptable. We used the Spa, cost of £4 pp was reasonable, and the Spa was good. Fix the items I have described Britannia hotels and it will make a World of difference.

Excellent Hotel, stayed one night for business, great location for Birmingham NEC. excellent parking, venue, staff were excellent. Huge hotel room communal areas, restaurant were immaculate. Very impressive house keeping. Food both evening meal and breakfast was faultless , very enjoyable. I used the swimming pool and the spa, both were excellent facilities. Happily return.

I was booked in here as a single occupant for a Motorcycle Club GB AGM, along with other club members. Along with other over 60s members who had walking difficulty, most were in rooms over 50 metres down the corridor. The room and bathroom was clean, though the showers were over bath & so many couldn’t use them. Breakfast was a good spread, apart from th fruit juice that seemed was made from cordial. Had to complain that orange juice had no orange in it. Then the cooked breakfast … the bacon was extremely salty, the fried eggs needed the oil draining off, what I thought was cooked cheese !! turned out to be scrambled egg. Saturday evening meal was booked to be a 3 course meal, however it wasn’t to be. The soup was tasteless, main course roast was just pork or there was dried out salmon. What I thought were button mushrooms, turned out to be boiled potatoes!! The queue was segregated by a barrier, where there were curries, rice & Naan bread, for non Europeans, but a minimal number of Middle Eastern / Asian. However some of our group after some banter instructed the server to give them curry. Sweets looked excellent, being large flans, cakes & gateaux. Albeit being diabetic none were suitable but managed to get ice cream. On Sunday at the AGM it was reported that there were many that refused to pay for the meal. The manager said he’d just come off holiday and didn’t know how many were attending. This was pointed out that rooms had been booked beforehand so numbers were already known. There was also an Indian wedding on at the same time and would have liked to see the food they were served

Executive double room, must be a joke. Dated room, bathroom extract doesn't work. Food overcooked, bar is grubby and badly on need of decoration. Staff don't have a clue about menus or offers. Twenty minutes after arrival a guest walked into my room as they had been given the wrong key. Bar doesn't take cash, no usb and no free WiFi in your room (executive room). Should have booked a premier Inn!!!!
