Xmas ? lunch was absolutely delicious. We were on the first sitting at noon ?. Smashing cocktails ?. Such a treat to go out on Xmas day. Great value at £65 for Xmas day compared to other places.

We organised a works Christmas party for a lovely lady suffering from dementia and her wonderful husband both of whom are house bound. Organised Christmas meals to be collected at 12.00pm today, brought own plates. Food was absolutely delicious, on time and very well boxed up for transport with extra gravy. Sam and Scott are a great team and I cannot thank you enough for what was a fabulous Christmas meal which meant a lot to all concerned. Timing was perfect and the service from start to finish. Many many thanks both! Louise x

We visited this beautiful place last night for a meal as we were staying locally. We were welcomed with the biggest & warmest of smiles and the greateast of atmospheres. The Locals also very kind, talking and making us feel very welcome. The lady behind the bar is an apsalute credit, she alone pulled out all the stops to make us welcome and that we had everything we wanted & needed. The food was divine, we couldn't fault anything at all, also sat infront of a log fire. We are upset as wanted to go back today but unfortunately where we were staying was already booked uo this eveing, but defiantly worth the travel to come back again, we look forward to revisiting soon. Jess & Ryan ♡**thank you for making our night special**

Not knowing the area we drove to take a look at possible venues for a family Wake and felt the comfort of the Gardeners Arms on arrival. Sam and her team were kind and considerate, nothing would be too much trouble. On the day we welcomed around 70-80 guests who were all made comfortable throughout the rooms, the log burner already warming the space. The buffet food was a mixture of chicken, spring rolls, selection of sandwiches, coleslaw and potatoe salad, with a variety of sweet treats also. We had a guest with coeliac requirements and a plate was prepared in advance. We couldn't recommend this venue enough from our experience, and many of our guests said they would travel to return here for a meal as it was such a lovely experience at the Wake.

Terrible place, badly run, bad beer, worse food. Whole place is smelly and old . Needs a new landlord fast. Such a shame as the location means it could be a lovely place.

Visited here as part of the family celebration of the passing of a family member.

We were visiting family in the area and had all arranged to go for Sunday lunch. We had our dog with us so had a table booked in the bar area. Nice atmosphere, with people coming and going the whole time we were there, and a really tasty Sunday lunch. Great desserts too, and a good range of gluten free options for one of our group as well. All of this with very friendly service. We'll definitely be back!

We visited this pub as it was close to where we were staying Lovely pub, large outdoor space Not busy… probably about 10 tables taken. Food took 45mins to arrive. Wasnt great when it did arrive…. peas a little dried up, chips were over cooked and bread bit stale. Reason was that the chef was stressed as 4/5 orders came in at once. Totally get that it might take time, but at least make it nice when it comes and the chef being stressed isn’t a reason to leave us that long. I noticed other customers who weren’t there when we ordered were eating in the bar area when I went in to ask where it was. I’m not usually one to leave a bad review but £30 for kids meal, lunchtime (small meal) and a sandwich is enough to pay.. it should come timely and be nice when it gets there

Lovely meal with family. Ham egg and chips superb. Steal pie had a lovely flavour and was very enjoyable but a reheated slice of pie. Didn't spoil the meal though. Staff attentive and put candles I a pudding for a birthday celebration. A Saturday night but very quiet in there which is a shame for the pub as the food is good.

This place was recommend to us and we were expecting more for the nice location. The pub inside had a weird smell and found it pricey for what we ordered. It will s definitely not worth the money.
