Not been in for three years, turns out there’s a new governor. We were made welcome on the phone and when we arrived. The good news carried on because the pint of Tribute I ordered was excellent. Following a bad experience elsewhere this was a tonic! The wine was also brilliant (I’m told by my partner). Very friendly staff, great venue (mind your head it was built in 23BC, even the Romans banged their heads on the lower beams). What a superb finish to a sunny summer weekend....read full review
It has been refurbished, business still growing, beer a little expensive, not sure yet, but has a outdoor space. Good for village. Decor much improved with a good seating area in front bar.

So excited that our local pub is now doing food and it didn’t disappoint!We had the beef burger, the Korean bbq chicken burger and a couple of portions of chips and it was all delicious! The portions were generous for the price and the service was quick. Looking forward to trying the pizzas!
