This pub is a real village pub.The atmosphere is truly friendly and warm.always a good welcome. So many village pubs have been turned into gastrointestinal restaurants,not so at the George. There is usually a lovely log fire in cold weather together with a newspaper to read and TV but not loud and used sensibly when used.With regard to food there is a good variety of home cooked food.A good community pub I recommend it for a visit.
Visited today Sunday 6 August 2017 half way round our walk. We found Julia very welcoming and the place had a lovely atmosphere. Appreciated the nibbles on the table and that our dog Chester was made very welcome. The menu for Thurs to Sat looks good and it is so good that she will cater for various allergies including gluten/wheat/yeast etc. We will undoubtedly be back and we will tell our friends. Paul.

It is what is I suppose, a pub, it really does need some TLC though. I never really felt comfortable, some investment in new furniture is a must.The service and staff were superb throughout.
