We visited this historic characterful pub on the way back to hotel after dinner. My partner had a pint of Guinness which was very good and I had a red wine. The prices were very reasonable, and there was a good atmosphere.
Wanted on a warm night to get out of the house and watch England Rugby. First time visit, despite walking by numerous Saturdays going to the Blues. Being teetotal not really been a pub person, but after watching Womens World Cup Final at G&D tried The Ship. Will be back through the season, as a nice selection of my fave drinks, Fentimans and Alchol Free Kopperburg Ciders, alternatives to Coke Zero.

Good spot for lunch. Good pub food, hot, tasty and good service. It's just outside the town centre, but 2 minutes walk. Worth paying them a visit. They have a good range of beers available. Outside seating is available in the summer months.
