Gladstone Ln, Cold Ash, ThatchamHaving lived near the Spotted Dog for years it’s surprising we’ve never been but I’d always heard good things about the food. I’m really pleased that we did go because what I heard was right, it was excellent.\n\nWe booked in case it was busy, which it was, and they stop serving on a Sunday at 5:45pm.\n\nThe menu is small but that’s usually a good sign and there were several dishes we both would happily have eaten. Think pub/home cooked classics (beef stew, fish and chips, roast, gammon etc). Both our meals were excellent and the service was friendly but efficient. We had desserts (sticky toffee pudding and syrup sponge) both very filling and delicious.\n\nOverall with a couple of drinks it was £48 for a delicious and satisfying meal. The pub itself is clean and nicely looked after with a welcoming atmosphere. We will definitely be back to try the seafood evening on a Friday next!

The Fox Inn
High Street, Hermitage, ThatchamAbsolutely fantastic food. Gourmet food. High quality locally sourced and clearly freshly prepared. Catered well for different ages from child to grandparents. Lovely staff, very friendly.
I really rate this pub and look forward to returning!

6, Kingsland Centre, ThatchamPossibly the best chips I've had in a very long time, very reasonably priced too. Everything is freshly cooked and made to order. Would very much recommend to anyone looking for a quick bite to eat on the way somewhere.

The Court Yd, The Broadway, ThatchamWe had a Doner Calzone and a Doner kebab with chips.
The food was well cooked. Tasted really nice and was hot too.
We will get food from them again in the future.

Old Chequers
36 The Broadway, ThatchamI popped in on a warm day as I had a bit of time and really didn't want a coffee in a soulless coffee house, and fancied a cool beer. Wonderful friendly regulars, who chatted away, and who I had a bit of a giggle with, and after a refreshing half a shandy, and a pleasant sit in the beer garden I left. Quaint little pub, with a car park at the back, didn't eat, so don't know about food, but a good old fashioned pub is a rarity nowadays, and I enjoyed my visit.

Best place in Burkshire to relax, darts football and very reasonable price alcholic and non alcholic drinks.

M4, 13 Oxford Rd, Hermitage, ThatchamDidn’t have time to shop and queue in M&S Food at Chieveley Services so grabbed a sausage roll just outside the entrance. Lovely pastry with plenty of tasty filling - will definitely make it one of my regular stops on the way to Southampton

Pop inn cafe
Crown Mead, 7, Bath Rd, ThatchamA great little cafe, lovely breakfast food and very friendly staff. Good portion size for the money. Cafe is clean and tidy. Just a little note, it would be nice to have some music in the background,whilst having a meal when it's quiet in the cafe. But all in all a good experience and we will come again!

It was great to hear the guy on the till advise another customer about allergies when they were choosing cookies. Food good and plentiful even if I feel a little overpriced.

7 High St, ThatchamExcellent from start to finish.\nFollowing a negative review I left a year or so ago regarding the take away I came here for Mother’s Day 2025 for a 1pm sitting with my family and can honestly say it was excellent from start to finish.\nWe had the buffet £16.95 per head and were offered a menu. \nWe opted for the starter and part way through offered more starters if we would like and we had another 2. I don’t know how many you can have, but it was plentiful and really nice to help yourself without leaving the table.\nThe mains came, another good selection of meals to choose from and were just as tasty as the starters.\nAgain offered more and we went for another 2 dishes.\nThe staff were helpful, friendly and made our visit lovely.\nWe were a family of 5 and let’s say I didn’t need anything for dinner that night.

Curridge, ThatchamWe went for a roast today, it was incredible. Come out all neatly presented and tbh didn’t look like much on the plate. Then you start moving things around and it’s hidden treasures! Couldn’t eat everything but they accommodated this and gave us a takeaway box! Will be back soon to try out the tapas menu!

3 Green Ln, ThatchamSo the wife and I have just had a very large take out from here and whilst I was there I spoke to a really nice guy who said they had just taken over so I thought, ok, let's see if the food is as good as before. Well, I have to say it was much better and, in fact, one of the best Indian Takeaways we have had. This is definitely going to be a regular for us. Excellent.
