We visited the Duke's Head as a starting point for a circular countryside walk we were planning around that end of Wokingham. We arrived very early (about 11am!) before the pub was properly open, but the landlord very kindly offered us hospitality and drinks. The pub is large and has a nice garden space, and felt welcoming and cosy. Went to this pub today had a beautiful fry up chips were crispy but soft and sausages were perfectly cooked very good value for money would recommend this to everybody thinking about eating in Wokingham.

This strikes you as the kind of pub that used to be a big deal x decades ago, and has slowly died off. It's a very large building and mostly nobody is in there. I wouldn't want to pay the rent on it. Fine for a drink or three but where are the regulars? other than some darts-playing society once a month. I'd hate to see it disappear though.
