I have visited the New Peking Chef, on and off, for years. I'd recommend it. Chinese & Malaysian takeaway food is great. Fish and chips usually good (very rarely been slightly undercooked). Friendly people.

This is probably my favourite chinese takeaway, always very friendly and helpful. Meets dietary requirements such as gluten-free. Food tastes great and is always high quality. It feels like such a welcoming place, e.g. We once went there wanting fish and chips, but it said "no fish and chips, fryer is broken." We went in and said,"we were going to order fish and chips, but we see the fryer broke." She thought for a second and said, "No, you're regular, we make especially for you."...read full review

I must admit that I generally used this place for their Chinese takeout rather than fish and chips because I thought there were better options. But I used them a short while ago on a Sunday because they were the only chippy open. I was very impressed with the quality and quantity and the batter on the fish was crispy and not too heavy.I tried them again last night and was equally impressed.
