What a revelation! I am coeliac and haven't had fresh fish and chips for years. So glad we made the trip because it was 100% worth it. The fish was crispy and delicious, not anemic looking like lots of gf stuff is, and the chips were equally awesome and vinegary and salty and mmmmmm. God I need to go back right now. Farrows Fish & Chips Shop has had failed to provide us a two cups of a Curry Sauce, NOT GRAVY!?. PLEASE DO TO LISTEN YOUR CUSTOMERS SAYS AT NEXT TIME. Now they ave ruined my takeaway food a wivout a no curry sauce?.
I'm so used to gluten free being something that's only available one day a week at the few chippies that do it that I called ahead to make sure. I'm glad I did because it gave them half an hour head start to prepare my order as well, which was enough time to walk over. But it wasn't necessary.The gluten free batter is made with corn, which does have a distinct flavour. I suppose it's cheaper than the blended flours on the market.
