I think when you visit a place you have never been to it's important to shop local, and eat local today this is more important if we are to keep some great pubs going. I really enjoyed the food here, the friendly nature of a pub goes along way when you walk in and it has loads here, Run by a lovely young couple the menu is simple good value and honest food, delicious and plentiful. Off the beaten track but definitely worth the trip through beautiful countryside and stunning villages. Sunday lunch was superb - I had roast sirloin of beef with beautifully sweet roasted carrots, crisp roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding filled with bacon and sprouts.The extensive burger menu was appreciated especially by the chilli fan in our family. Visited for lunch, it was cold outside and it would have been nice to have a fire lit to give some ambiance. However we were welcomed and the menu though limited had good choices for us. Two of us had the fish and chips which was very good. The others had the duck but asked for the fondant potato to be changed to Dauphinois which the chef kindly agreed to. It came with roasted veg and was absolutely delicious.
