Assumed to be the “Mad Hatter”s shop in Alice in Wonderland. Roger Crabb (c1621) returned back to Chesham to do his old job, shaping hats with mercury and thus became Mad. A nice coffee shop and the owner tells the story. Coffee walnut cake served in nice Queen Anne china plates which is my fine line. Johnny Depp came to visit here and sit in this bench to catch the mood of Mad Hatter.”

British • “Had lunch at this pub today along with my brother and sister. Good variety on the menu, friendly staff and above all great food with generous portions. I had the mixed grill which was simply fabulous and served piping hot. We will definitely be returning.”

“Four of us had lunch here today and all the meals were excellent. The pie of the day, chicken and ham, was beautifully cooked. We were given a friendly welcome and shown to our table, then the charming landlady came back promptly to take our drinks order. The meals were freshly cooked to order and delicious. This is a great place for lunch.
I highly recommend it.”

“Had a lovely meal on a Thursday evening. We booked a table for four but it was our first visit so not sure if it was necessary. It's not a large place and several other tables were occupied. The food was all prepared and cooked on the premises and was off excellent quality. Will definitely be returning”
