We booked for lunch for six on a Sunday afternoon. When we booked we were warned that we're not doing the roast dinners and so only had a limited bar snacks style menu. This was fine, the menu was limited but we had been warned. Service was friendly and prompt. Ham egg and chips, scampi and chips, horseshoe burger, beef chili nachos and a jacket potato were all good. The vegetarian options were very limited.
We booked for Mothers Day lunch. As usual an absolutely cracking meal. I usually find pub Sunday roast very disappointing and had a shocker recently at the Old Bell, but this was really great. Lovely meat, good selection of veg, home made cauliflower cheese and proper gravy. 5 stars all round

Stopped here for lunch as it is just a couple of minutes from the motorway and certainly a million times nicer than the services, 200x cheaper and helping out a local business. Food was delicious and the landlord was very friendly. As it was quiet our dog and the pub dog got to make friends.
