Food was great, cooked beautifully. Meals were hot and served all together. I was on a table of 10 and everyone was very complimentary about their meal. Staff were friendly and attentive. Lovely country pub setting. Very good all round.

This used to be amazing with the previous owners, food first class, service and atmosphere great. You always had to book as it was busy reflecting how good it was.Since the new owners have taken over all you have is a very expensive refurb.Last week at lunch time we only saw one other table with people eating yet waiting an hour to be served our drinks never mind lunch.Nothing against the staff he seemed nice just totally inexperienced. We didn’t booked we walked in and it was like a ghost town.Food was a disappointing wait. In fact I could have cooked it at home. It didn’t look fresh or inspiring never mind served up by a chef. Portions are small, have a snack before you go.If you want average frozen tasting food then that’s great but a heads up it’s not like it used to be.Such a shame.

Ordered a steak sandwich off the lunch menu at a cost of £13.50 waited over an hour and when it came it was cold undercooked and very chewy. The size of portion would reflect it should cost £8 and not £13.50!! I would not recommend this place for food. It was mot very good.doesnt give me an option to upload a picture.

Dietary restrictions: Best GF burger bun I’ve eaten. I had to double check when the meal arrived because it looked and tasted just like it’s floured cousin.

Excellent choice of food options, both on the a la carte menu and the Supper Club (two courses for £20). Friendly staff, attentive but not over-bearing. We will definitely return.Parking: Parking is available to the rear. The car park is gravelled. Flat access to the pub at the back across paving slabsWheelchair accessibility: Very good. Accessible toilet with wide door near rear entrance. Flat access to the car park. Gravelled but not deep.

Didn't get to have food as we arrived spur of the moment and the kitchen was closed.Atmosphere was lovely so we stayed for a drink whilst researching somewhere else to go for food. Will definitely return when the kitchen is open. Menu looked good!Welcomes dogs.

Went here with my family.Unfortunately it wasn't a nice experience. Staff were not very welcoming at all. They looked very unhappy and did not come across as friendly. When asking for a certain item that we had ordered that hadn't come out it seemed like we were inconveniencing them.Food took so long to come out. We were waiting for dessert for approx 30mins.We were there for nearly 3hours and only had 2 courses and no refill of drinks.Such a shame as the food was nice. I had the pork belly roast dinner and it was very tasty. The service massively let the meal down. But that's an easy fix!

One of the worse meals I've had in a long time.Starter brown old avocado with no hint of the crab that was supposed to be in there, served with stale bread. Main course dried, shrivelled cod so small you could barely see it under the poached egg and 4 new potatoes that were supposed to be sautéed. I could go on about the other 3 people but enough said. Fantastic!!! Highly recommend the double burger and toffee pudding. Service was amazing, really felt taken care of throughout the meal and the atmosphere was very cozy.

We had been looking forward to returning here and introducing family to this pub, as we remembered amazing Sunday lunches from a couple of years ago. However, we were disappointed to find that the roast dinners were half the size that they used to be, the waiting staff appeared inexperienced and not at all proactive and there was little atmosphere, with no music playing and staff stood around chatting among themselves. We had no complaints about the food, but we thought it was only average and that it was expensive, considering the reduced portion sizes. I’m presuming that there must have been a change in management since our last visit and, whilst we wish the new team all the best, personally we were disappointed with our visit. This is such a lovely building and the pub was clean, tidy, comfortable and well presented but it didn’t feel as special as it used to, in our opinion, and unfortunately wouldn’t warrant us making a return visit.
