What an absolute hidden gem. As country pubs go this could be the best! We arrived on a Sunday at about 5pm 30 minutes before our booking, this was no issue to the lovely young lady on the desk at entrance. A few tables were switched around and we were seated in a lovely cosy area of the pub. Had many lovely meals at The Dog, but hadn’t visited for a few years until today. Well, my roast was just the best ever, even more delicious than I remember. Absolutely cooked to perfection & beautifully presented. Their roasts are by far the best around here imo. Very nice waitresses looking after us too. My only negative was a young man, dressed in a checked suit, leaned right over me, whilst I was eating, to retrieve an empty glass. He should have gone around the back of...read full review

After a family Boxing Day walk we finished off at The Dog. The pub was very busy with a great atmosphere and the staff attentive. We were seated and served quickly and the food was beautiful, unfortunately there was a slight issue with one of the dishes but this was not a problem as the staff soon resolved it. An excellent country pub and definitely worth a visit.
