The service and at atmosphere at the new “reimagined” Zacry’s on the sea wall was impeccable. However, given this is the replacement for the main (and lovely!) hotel restaurant, I feel it’s a change for the worse. The menu is extremely limited (5 choices only and only one meat option) with no flexibility on courses. My wife I stayed at the Watergate Bay Hotel for a 1 night and were looking forward to our booking at Zackrys especially as it had changed venues to the sea wall. Have to say it was disappointing and very average to what we were expecting. The lunch we had in the Living Space at the hotel was on another level to Zackrys. Quite surprised as we thought Zackrys would be the hotels premier eatery. Clearly not on this evidence.

After a recent move from the main hotel building, Zacry’s now occupies the space vacated by Emily Scott’s restaurant (and formally ‘Watchful Mary’). It’s a stunning venue literally on the sea shore- with diners feeling as if they are almost hovering above the surf. Amazing in winter and I would imagine summer sunsets will add another memorable layer to this experience.
