Stayed here for a couple of nights for a wedding in Polhawn Fort. The pub/hotel is massive - 6 rooms upstairs and a big bar area with lovely wooden panelling and an open fire. The staff were great - friendly and helpful. The food was very good too - big breakfasts plus we had lunch one day - superb mussels and beer battered cod. Great little find. I've been to the area so often but have never ventured inside for a drink or for something to eat. As a business, we took a trip with friends and were so pleased that we stopped.The barman (Aston villa fan) was fantastic, knowledgeable, very polite, and really helpful in selecting some of the food and wine. Had a variety of meals, breakfast and main evening meals during the duration of our stay. All of them started with a warm welcome, excellent service and wonderfully tasty food. Already looking forward to returning. Well worth the walk or ferry trip to get there. Genuinely dog friendly.
