Contrary to the website, which states food is served from 2pm on Fridays, it is actually 3pm-8pm (ish). The emphasis is on the ‘ish’; if you need exact times for your meal you probably shouldn’t be in Cornwall. Once the food service started I had battered cod, chips and peas for £14. The food was well cooked, the batter was light, chips were crisp and the piece of fish was twice the size of what you get at a nearby chip shop. After a long cycle ride one day and coastal foot path walk on another we still can't believe how lucky we were to find St John's Inn. The food was first class and service excellent. We'll certainly know where to include on our lunch or dinner stops next time we're on holiday in Jersey.

We bobbed in for lunch on the recommendation of a taxi driver. Very nice pub food and a good pint. Would definitely return again. Looks slightly dated inside but don't let this put you off. Friendly staff, a warm welcome and the food surprised us with how well cooked it was.
