The Kings Head is a gem of a pub located in the centre of the village of Ruan Lanihorne, opposite the church. The new management is currently focusing on renovating the interior, with plans to work on the exterior soon. The menu is not huge, but the quality of the food is exceptional, thanks to the expertise of the chef, Sophia, who has a history of working in top-class restaurants. The pub serves local beers and a small but well-selected wine list. It is both dog and child friendly, with limited parking by the pub but additional parking nearby. The outdoor seating area and small shady garden are also on the list for improvement. The mussels were among the best, and the venison and steak were beautifully cooked. The relaxed atmosphere and locally sourced food make this restaurant a worthy destination, despite the need for some updating.
