Phoned to make a booking last minute on Sunday. I found the staff to be accomodating, and we were made to feel soooo welcome. Sunday carvery was amazing, I however chose steak which was cooked to perfection. Well done to all, excellent service and thoroughly recommended.

We are new to the area and this was our first venture out for an evening meal. Delightful staff, delicious food. The lobster thermidor tart was AMAZING and we will definitely be back again.

We eat here a lot and have always enjoyed excellent food but we went on Saturday 23rd December with 5 other people. 3 of us had the Turkey dinner and were very disappointed with it. A gem of a place!Stayed for 2 nights with our elderly parents and dog. The staff could not have been more welcoming or helpful. Our rooms had everything we needed ...a special touch of a bar of Cornish chocolate was very cute! Our dog was made to feel very welcome too...lots of treats and cuddles for him!As the pub isn't open in the day, you have another exit meaning you can come and go with ease. Location on A39 meant that you could take the main road or country lanes to get to Padstow, Rock etcYvonne and Claire were superb hosts and made us feel like locals/friends....highly attentive, going above and beyond with their serviceWe ate dinner here for the 2 nights as the food was tremendous. The tomahawk steak was superb!Great value for money, great flavours, consume and home made bread as a free taster ...A very good value for money stay...we will definitely return!

We had Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust staff and volunteers Xmas lunch with us all spread throughout the pub. Lovely food. Very welcoming staff and a fab time had by all. Thanks to organisers who did a great job, and to all at the Halfway House who helped to make it a special day.Nearby activities: Camel Trail just down the road on Wadebridge with bike hire to go along the estuary. Bird-watching great along the estuary. Lovely interesting shops and restaurants in the town. Great place to visit.
