Food delicious, we had the Indian Burrito and the Salmon .. yummy, friendly service, we ate in the bar area as we had our dog which was fine but it was quite cold especially when the band left the doors open to bring in their gear! Lovely place ?

A one night stay on Thursday 31/8 on our way up to Scotland. A nice warm welcome with a well presented and comfortable room. Drinks and dinner were good and staff were excellent. A great choice made.

DO NOT BOOK We booked to stay for 2 nights, 29-31 August back in May. Noticed from a Facebook post that it would be closed until the 30 August. We have tried to contact the hotel numerous times and even spoke to the mother of the owner who told us that her daughter would contact us….. still waiting for that phone call! Received an email from Booking.com at 3pm on Friday 25 August telling us that the booking has been cancelled! The owner of this establishment didn’t even have the decency to call and advise!They waited until a Friday afternoon of a bank holiday weekend to cancel. I understand things happen but there has been ample amount of time to contact me and at least give me a chance of finding alternative accommodation. It’s a disgrace and as a business you should be ashamed of yourselves.

The food is good, the atmosphere is pleasant, the furniture is new and the service is great. Different from our other experiences is that the main dishes are accompanied by a bowl of vegetables.

We stayed here for just one night after travelling down from Scotland. All staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful during our brief stay. The Little Dun Fell room is small but has enough space for two large suitcases. It was very clean with lovely decor throughout. The bed was comfortable and we had a peaceful nights sleep. The bedroom floor slopes a little in places but that’s just down to the age of the building. There was no chef available on the Sunday of our visit, but the staff happily made an evening meal for both of us. Wifi was a bitty iffy, but that’s just about the only negative thing we can think of. We’d happily recommend the New Crown Inn to anyone.

Went for a family (birthday) meal whilst on holiday, booked in advance. Waited to be order both food and drinks. Food took about 45 minutes to arrive, which was problematic as we had young children. No apology in advance or on arrival of the food for the wait. Food was really poor, undercooked chips, overcooked meat, items missing on dishes. No water offered. Over charged on bill for drinks that we didn’t have. Was intending to use the restaurant for most our main meals whilst away due to the proximity to where we were staying. However following this experience we never ate there again. Only went because of the great reviews. We were informed by locals that there was a change in kitchen staff, but this still doesn’t excuse the poor service. Would not recommend.
