“Come for the chips alone!!Off the beaten track, small, local pub with a very warm welcome, some great local beers and outstanding food. The standard of cooking was excellent and the portion sizes were very generous. Everything was very tasty, with really nice quality ingredients, but the star of the show were the chips... exactly like your mum used to make. Highly recommended if you're in the area. You can book ahead to avoid disappointment.”

“Wonderful, sincere, warm reception (especially for the dog). Perfect location for Carlisle, Penrith, the Lakes, historical site seeing, walking and relaxing. Great friendly bar on the Friday night, Fabulous food. Refurbished with character to a really high standard. Tom and his family were quite rightly proud of their inn, and happy to go the extra mile to ensure you have a memorable stay. We’ll be back.”
